It smells great, not too strong or overpowering, but also no completely devoid of scent. It is also gentle and doesn't leave lots of residue on your hair. And wow, has it ever changed my hair! I get compliments on the colors and hue of my hair at least once a week, especially in the summer. I have also been asked who my colorist is and if they can get the number so that they can get hair similar to mine. I always just smile, say thank you, and tell them about this shampoo. While technically the shampoo is non-dying, it will change the color of your hair over time, but it will be a subtle change, and the results are awesome. This shampoo used to say that it would give you natural highlights and it really does deliver on this, no matter what your hair color is. I highly recommend this product! I have very thick dark hair and it did not moisturize at all. It made my hair brittle and dry. Even using this with the matching conditioner didn't make a difference. Comments about Nature's Gate Henna Shine Enhancing Shampoo, 18 fl oz: If your hair is normal to dry I probably wouldn't use this, but if your hair is oily at all this is the best I've tried. My scalp tends to produce excess oil that regular shampoos only aggravate. With this shampoo I've noticed that after 12 hours my hair still looks fresh. Plus, unlike many other sulfate-free shampoos I've tried, this works up a great lather.

I have been using this every other day on my hair for two weeks. I couldn't be happier with this product. There is a noticeable increase in the shine of my hair and definite auburn highlights. My hair seriously hasn't looked this good for a long time. I use the matching conditioner, as well.

My hair has definite highlights from the henna, now I have lots of red and golden hues in my hair. The matching conditioner isn't the best, but it doesn't make my skin feel all gross and slimy, so that is a plus, I concentrate the conditioner just on the ends of my hair and let it sit for about a minute or two while I do other things in the shower (wash and exfoliate my face). Overall I am very happy with this product.

I have oily hair, and I do not have to wash my hair as often since using this product. I would recommend a good conditioner though.
