Now that I think about it I cannot believe it has been around for 20 years but I remember using it in high school.....I think it is still made the same way. It smells wonderful, can be used for shaving too and as you rinse it out of your hair and it gets on your skin you know that it is moisturizing and scenting your skin as well..You can leave it on for just a minute or two or do a deep condition with it ..Just wash hair, put the conditioner in, put a disposible shower cap over that then wrap your head in a towel to warm your head and hair up and just walk around and do stuff for about 30 mins. then rinse it out...........
.I have always liked a rich spicy smell and this has it!..so many shampoos, that may be effective, smell too chemically..I have always gotten compliments on my hair which at times has been waist length....I am not sure if it would be too rich and heavy for fine or oily hair 'cause I do not have that kind of hair. Now that I am older, I color and the conditioner really helps keep it shiny and smooth..I use ALOT of Nature Gate products because of the ingredients and the aroma..
Always natural never chemical...

This product has changed from the original formula that first appeared in 1975. They've dropped several of the herbal ingredients I would guess to keep costs down. A pity...but still a very good "natural" product.

This is absolutely my favorite conditioner! Like another reviewer, I had used this previously, about 20 years ago. Was thrilled to come across it again[...] Just had to find another source, 'cause I wasn't willing to give up using it. It smells wonderful, very earthy & herbal-reminds me of patchouli. Also has great feel, gives your hair great texture, easy to comb afterward. And it's a "natural" product-very "green". The brown color is even great-very herbal-like! No build-up; ok to use every day!

I am lucky to have naturally soft and straight hair. I used suave [$] conditioner for years but wanted to make a switch to no animal testing and natural ingredients. This conditioner left my hair feeling dry and brittle, as if I let it dry after being in the pool without rinsing. My hair has NEVER had such an awful texture. While researching my next conditioner, I used some suave I had left and my hair returned to normal. BEWARE of this conditioner, especially if you have difficult to manage hair, as my hair is normally soft and this product ruined it!

I first used this conditioner almost 30 years ago, and it is still my favorite. It contains some wonderful herbs, it works great, and the smell is absolutely beautiful. I have gone through many shampoos and conditioners throughout the years, and I still come back to this one. I also use it with the Nature's Gate Herbal Shampoo, and together they are a great combination. So, go on and try what I call "the brown stuff." It is one of the classics of hair care!!
