This product keeps me clearer than other 2% salicylic acid treatments. It doesn't leave my chin flaky. Wears well under moisturizer or foundation. I can't figure out why it works so well; I just know I go through the tube like a champ. I tried it because of 5-star reviews on another site, and I agree wholeheartedly.
This is in response to the review titled DISAPPOINTING which stated that "... it only contains 2% ..." as if that was a low concentration when, in reality, 2% is considered strong enough for the most stubborn cases of acne and many products have only 0.5% or 0.75% or 1%. Stronger concentrations exists but usually for other purposes since this ingredient is, also, used to remove corns, etc. and these concentrations are not meant to be used on acne.
I bought this instead of my usual Clean & Clear spot treatment gel because it has no parabens and includes organic ingredients. I found it to be much more gentle on my skin than Clean & Clear or Netrogena treatments, to date it has caused no burning, itching, or overdrying that i have exprienced with the abovementioned brands. Definitely not a one-night wonder but it does the job for me.
I bought this product as it touted the benefits of being effective while containing organic botanicals and no parabens. Unfortunately, I just don't think it is a strong enough product (at least for oily skin) - it only contains 2% salicylic acid. With every application, I found that it had no effect, some acne even worsening as if no product had even been put on. I eventually went back to cheaper, conventional drugstore acne treatments which significantly helped. If you have sensitive or dry skin, you may have a better experience as the cream (which absorbs quickly) is gentle.
I feel this prevents blemishes from getting really nasty if you catch them early enough. They seem to stay on the smaller side and subside within a few days instead of a week. Works pretty good and I love that it's paraben free.
Cleanse the skin thoroughly with Corrective Cleanser
Cover the entire affected area with a thin layer one to three times daily.
Because excessive drying of the skin may occur, start with one application daily, then gradually increase to two or three times daily if needed or as directed by a doctor.
If bothersome dryness or peeling occurs, reduce application to once a day or every other day.
