Woodspice and Calendula were my favorite scents. However, this summer, I noticed that the usual formula had changed. The scent was completely different; when applied it was excessively wet and would not dry--and then I broke out in a painful rash (which got worse each time I used the deodorant). My boyfriend had been experiencing the same thing with his usual Old Spice deodorant--skin irritation and peeling afterwards. I looked for a common ingredient listed on both brands and saw that both contained propylene glycol. Some internet research confirmed that the propylene glycol was probably what had caused the irritation. So, we ditched the Tom's of Maine and Old Spice and looked for an alternative without p.g.--which was not easy to find. Sadly, even most of the "natural" deodorants have this stuff in it. It's all natural and has a light, pleasant scent and it goes on clear. But as someone who perspires easily, I usually use deodorant/antiperspirant. Lately I've been trying to use natural products that don't contain harsh chemicals. After reading a few reviews about Nature's Gate, I decided to try it, but was a little leery because in the past when I've used deodorants, they quit working after a little while. This was the case with Nature's Gate. It lasted for about an hour and then I had to reapply. I reapplied about 4 times one day, and still I had some underarm odor. Now, I sweat more than the average girl, I think, so this might not be a problem for someone who sweats less. For me, though, I can't use this product because it just doesn't work for me. I'm back to my old antiperspirant/deodorant.[...] Reviewed by 17 customers Sort by 6/3/2010 Not what I was hoping for Pros

Best Uses Comments about Nature's Gate Organics Tea Tree & Blue Cypress Deodorant, Tea Tree & Blue Cypress, 1.7 oz: I was really dissappointed with this product. I was hoping for a safe & natural alternate to traditional deodorant but it doesn't control odor & smells medicated. Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend Was this review helpful? Somewhat disappointing because we are aware of the dangers of aluminum in regular deoderants that work so effectively. This wasn't a workable substitute for us. Maybe it's just our body chemistry, though... Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend Was this review helpful? Comments about Nature's Gate Organics Tea Tree & Blue Cypress Deodorant, Tea Tree & Blue Cypress, 1.7 oz: I enjoyed this product. It works for half the day. The smell is harsh until applied, then it seems to blend and subside. It doesn't last ALL day.. maybe part of the day. I'd advise use only on cooler days. If you sweat a lot, this wouldn't keep odor under control. Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend (1 of 1 customers found this review helpful) Was this review helpful? Comments about Nature's Gate Organics Tea Tree & Blue Cypress Deodorant, Tea Tree & Blue Cypress, 1.7 oz: It's not long-lasting, but I got this for myself and I really like it! In fact, my 11-year old daughter kept borrowing mine so I'm getting one for her, too. Paraben-free and no aluminum (1 of 1 customers found this review helpful) Was this review helpful? By Anonymous from Undisclosed Comments about Nature's Gate Organics Tea Tree & Blue Cypress Deodorant, Tea Tree & Blue Cypress, 1.7 oz: This deodorant does NOT work! As other reviewers have mentioned, the deodorant has an unpleasant smell, goes on sticky, and does not seem to deodorize at all. I actually think that it makes you smell WORSE-- probably because the deodorant adds more moisture (from the natural oils it contains) rather than eliminating moisture. And more moisture means more smelling! (1 of 1 customers found this review helpful) Was this review helpful? Yes / No - You may also flag this review 2/25/2008 The smell doesn't bother ... By Anonymous from Undisclosed Comments about Nature's Gate Organics Tea Tree & Blue Cypress Deodorant, Tea Tree & Blue Cypress, 1.7 oz: The smell doesn't bother me. The issue is that it does not last very long. I am not the type of person that sweats a lot. At the end of the day, I could smell my underarm. This is not a product that can last. Comments about Nature's Gate Organics Tea Tree & Blue Cypress Deodorant, Tea Tree & Blue Cypress, 1.7 oz: As far as performance, it doesn't last a long time, but if you need a natural deodorant for allergies or other reasons, then this one seems good to me. It has more of a masculine scent and can be reapplied whenever needed without all those harsh chemicals in other deodorants. Even a lot of the other "natural" products use some form of Aluminum, but this one doesn't. (1 of 1 customers found this review helpful) Was this review helpful?
