For the longest time I couldn't fingure out why & spoke to a few different hair styliests everyone believes it's due to weather being too dry & my skin/scalp isn't used to it. 3 some years into living here in CO I've just had it so I decided to try Tea Tree shampoo & conditioner to see if it'd help. VIOLA!!!! not only my itchy scalp went away within 4 uses (I used it everyday for 7 days straight trying to cure it & it did by day 4). Not only my scalp doens't itch as bad as it used to for the last 3 some years I also notice a hugh change of "loss of hair". For those of you have dark long hair you probably lose a good chuck of hair washing it, conditioning it, then drying it. (lighter hair probably lose a lot of hair, too it's just harder to see in the bathtub due to lighter hue). I have a hair catcher in my bathtub so It doens't clog up my plumming system & noticed that I don't pick up nearly as much hair after my shower then I used to. I also dry my hair upside down over my bathtub & have all the pieces fall into my bathtub instaad of all over my bathroom floor & definitely noticed I don't pick up nearly as much hair as I used also during drying. There is no sicentific proof that Tea Tree Oil helps reduing loss of hair but my personal exp. definitely speaks for itself. I have even passed on to my brother who doens't have itchy scalp issue but has thinning hair issue who lives in Chicago, IL that's a lot more humid & even he noticed a little bit of a difference. Hope this review helps. I've been using this product for over a month by now & am very happy with it. (both shampoo & conditioner). I didn't give it a 5-star b/c I don't believe in "perfect product" but I am about to order my 2nd shipment so it's definitely a good item. VS Most Liked Negative Review No good for me... I've reccently developed a flaky, red, and irritated scalp, and my hair just got thinner and thinner day by day. I was thinking this product could help me. On the bottle it says, "help provide calming relief for dry, itchy, irritated conditions." and I read the ingredients online and thought the shampoo contains no Sodium Laureth Sulfate, BUT IT DOES! Any my scalp just remains itchy, irritated, red, and flaky after using this product. Probably it's just too dry where I live. But any how this product was no good for me. If you are looking for something with no SLS, I'd reccommend Trader Joe's "Refresh" shampoo, and it's one third the price ! Comments about Nature's Gate Tea Tree Calming Shampoo, 18 fl oz: This was my first natural shampoo purchase. I chose it because is affordable, had decent reviews, and since I have kids the tea tree oil is a nice perk as it prevents lice. I have very oily hair, and it does get my hair clean in one shampoo. Leaves it shiny and it feels good. The only thing is that I have to wash my hair everyday, which is normal with most shampoos for me, but there were a few chemical shampoos that would allow me to go every other day. So if you have super oily hair, this will work but you need to wash it daily. It works great on my kids' hair. I shampoo their hair every other day. It leaves their hair silky and shiny. I do think it might burn a baby's eyes if they are too little to know to close their eyes, because my two year old got some in her eyes once and she cried for a second or two.

Comments about Nature's Gate Tea Tree Calming Shampoo, 18 fl oz: This shampoo absolutely saved me. I began having severe reactions to most other shampoos and conditioners. My dermatologist did some patch testing and my skin is so sensitive to many ingredients in just about everything. I am very sensitive to smells as well and this one was not so strong. I was hesitant because tea tree oil can be pretty pungent but it was actually quite pleasant. The Natures Gate products are fabulous. I honestly didn't know what I was going to do when I found these.

Cons Best Uses Comments about Nature's Gate Tea Tree Calming Shampoo, 18 fl oz: Got this in hopes that I can still wash my hair in the shower. However, I still have a reaction to some ingredient in shampoos when the water and suds trails down there (you know). And then I get contact dermatitis. So anyway not sure what ingredient it is that is in shampoos that does this to me but have come to the realization I just can't wash my hair in the shower anymore. Will have to be done separately over the tub or in the sink. But I absolutely love this shampoo so will continue to use it. I was hesitant because I thought it might be harsh on the hair or smell really bad. But not harsh at all and smells great.

Comments about Nature's Gate Tea Tree Calming Shampoo, 18 fl oz: Other shampoos were causing my scalp to be irritated & break out. My hair stylist recommended a Tea Tree Shampoo & I found this one to be at a much more practical price than the paul mitchell brand suggested. The smell is very menthol/minty while washing but it doesn't linger after a shower, hair just smells clean & fresh. Gentle, doesn't tingle my scalp. It doesn't leave a slimy residue on your hair as some "smooth & silky" shampoos can. I have been using the conditioner too so my hair doesn't dry out. I have fine/thin slightly wavy hair & this leaves it soft & clean feeling. Also now my hair seems to have a better natural shine now that my scalp is happier.

Comments about Nature's Gate Tea Tree Calming Shampoo, 18 fl oz: I use this product every other day. I am a Mother of 5. I purchased this product for both me and my 13 year old son. Both of us have itchy flaky scalps. It was embarassing for him in school. And the regular products for Dandruff just were NOT working. I felt a tingle the very first time I used this product. I have very thick wavy hair, my sons is thick and straight. We just purchased this product and have only used for a week and it is already showing a difference in our itchy flaky scalps. My son LOVES it. I use to use a hair product that had Tea Tree Oil in it. It was a leave in conditioner. I used it everyday on my daughters hair and my sons. The preschool/caretaker of my children had a Lice breakout. All the children got it, except mine. And it was because of the Tea Tree Oil. I also use a Tea Tree Oil Shampoo on my pets. No dandruff, less shedding, nice shiney coats. I would recommend this to product and the conditioner to everyone.

Comments about Nature's Gate Tea Tree Calming Shampoo, 18 fl oz: I had high hopes for this product due to the positive reviews, but it just didn't do anything for me. I have a problem with itchy scalp, and this product did nothing to get rid of it. It didn't make it worse - like some other shampoos sometimes do - but it didn't make it better, either. The product itself was nice enough...I've tried other tea tree shampoos before, and this one doesn't have the overpowering tea tree scent that some of the other ones do, so that's a plus. Cleans well and, paired with the conditioner, moisturizes okay (not as much as I'd like, but at least it doesn't totally dry out your hair like other tea tree products), but I don't think I'll be buying this again.
