I used to take Klonopin for panic attacks and Ambien for sleep problems.then found out about Valerian. I take 3 at bedtime and sleep like a baby , then wake up refreshed. I also take 1 every morning along with a 5 HTP twice daily (replaced Wellbutrin), and have totally eliminated all prescriptions after 10 years of struggling with the above issues. I urge anyone who is concerned about chemical prescriptions to try natural remedies such as this and hopefully get the same awesome relief I have found.

Valerian helps some people get a good night's sleep. However, it had a diuretic effect on me so I was up several times in the night. It also had a cumulative effect, and after two nights of using it, I was tired and sleepy on the third day. I also felt depressed overall. This is just my own reaction to valerian, and it is probably exceptional. Just be aware that everyone reacts differently, and it works for some, not for others.

    Take this product about 30 minutes before bed, and it will help you relax and get to sleep naturally.
    If feeling really stressed, then take 2. The coating is nice and prevents that nasty valerian herb smell.

        I don't know that it helps me get to sleep, but I have restless leg syndrome and this helps me sleep quietly.

          I had read about Valerian as a possible way to treat insomnia and was told that the addition of Lemon Balm made it easy on the tummy. I found this on the website and am into my second bottle. I have severe insomnia and it really seems to work. It doesn't work EVERY time, but I would say it works 90% of the time that I take it. I don't feel groggy the next day and am happy with the results. This is definite a product that I will buy on a regular basis.

            Occasionally I fret and worry — on those evenings, before I go to bed I take two of these tablets. They promote a deep, relaxing sleep. I have experienced very little morning grogginess. I recommend trying these to see if they help if you have occasional difficulty falling asleep or problems waking up during the night with worries, before you try other sleep aids that might be more "addictive."

                  I find most of the "lightweight" sleep meds (herbals) don't do much for me by themselvs, but this does have effect. Not like it knocks you out (none of them do), but it does help me relax and if I combine it with another sleep aid (sleep tea, or sometimes benadryl) it has a noticeable effect. I like that when I DO take it on its own, there's zero groggy-ness when I wake up. Downside? It absolutely DOES have a horrible odor (don't care what the caption says, it stinks--literally!). I don't let that stop me, but it's worth mentioning.
