Do not rinse if nasal passage is completely blocked or if you have an ear infection or blocked eats. When we get allergy symptoms, we use nasal rinses- these plastic squeeze bottles are easier and more packable than the "neti pots" so many use.
An Indian friend of mine says they've been using nasal rinses in India for a long time- it's a good way to treat nasal symptoms without needing to use any medicine.
Sometimes it takes a few days of consistent use to work on congestion symptoms, but you feel the clearing of your sinuses right away.
You can also make your own saline solution by mixing in 2-3 tsp of NON-iodized salt per liter of water- and you can fill the bottle with warm tap water. (The boxes may say to use distilled water, but, I figure, it's just passing thru- plus if you can DRINK tap water, you should certainly be able to use it for nasal rinse!) [If the saline stings your nose, you can also add 1 tsp of bicarbonate of soda.]
(Hint- You may need to bend over and blow your nose with your head turned each way, afterward, depending on whether your sinuses curve or not. Or else, you may get a runny nose surprise when you lie down.)

I HAVE USED NEDIMED FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS AND FIND IT TO BE VERY EFFECTIVE. HOWEVER, I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED WHEN YOU CHANGED THE STYLE OF THE PACKETS. I MUCH PREFERRED THE TUBE PACKETS AS THEY WERE SO MUCH EASIER TO OPEN AND PUT INTO THE BOTTLE. WITH THE SQUARE PACKETS SOMETIMES I HAVE TO MAKE 2-3 CUTS BEFORE I CAN GET IT OPENED. I WOULD BE VERY PLEASED IF YOU WOULD RETURN TO THE TUBE PACKETS.

I have been using a neti pot with sea salt & water solution for years. Great but stings a little. After recent sinus surgery my dr had me get a sinus waterpik attachment and Neilmed packs. This combo is sooo much better than my previous method, due in large part to the neilmed sinus rinse. It doesn't burn or sting at all!!! My sinus healed so quickly, and I just find it refreshing. I highly recommend it ! (with or without the waterpik).

I have recently started to do the NeilMed Sinus rinse everyday along with the Simply Saline, also purchased through Drugstore.com. My doctor recommended that I do this regime forever!

I have used neilmed for nearly 10 years. It was recommended to me by a fellow sinus surgery "veteran". I use it daily before my prescription sinus spray. Neilmed's spray bottles are very effective. I have lately begun to use a Waterpic with a special nasal irrigation attachment instead of the plastic bottles. I also add "Alkalol" to the saline neilmed mix. Finally after all these years my sinus infections are under control.
