Makes sense - if you are suffering from allergies, wash the allergens out of your nasal passages. After using a nasal steroid and claritin for years, I was amazed at how such a simple solution (no pun intended) can work more effectvely.

This is just the best product to use if you have sinus or allergy problems. I use it once a day atleast and perhaps twice when symptoms are real bad. I don't go to the doctor as often for these symptoms and no antibiotics for secondary sinus infections. All of that is gone since using this great product. If you have congestion, allergy symptoms or sinus problems, this is the thing for you, so easy, so natural and hey, IT WORKS.

I have suffered from severe allergies for years. This sinus rinse is like a power boost for my medications--when I use both together, I can get through Tennessee's 9-month allergy "season" with mild-to-no symptoms. It's particularly helpful in controlling wheezing and congestion. Depending on my symptoms, I use it 1-3 times a day during allergy season; in the winter, I stop my meds altogether and just use the rinse once a day for maintenance. My allergist has encouraged me to use it as often as I like--he says that, in addition to symptom relief, it actively heals sinus tissues from the damage typically caused by long-term allergies.
Whether you use this with the blue pot or the clear bottle, you may need a few tries to get the hang of it and get used to the sensation of the rinse going through your sinuses. It's a quick adjustment, though, and definitely worth the effort if you have severe allergies.

I love my neti pot. I use these packets with it every time I shower. When I forget to use it my allergies start acting up in a day or two. Then I remember, oh I forgot to use my neti pot.

Have tried other saline wash solutions, but this is the only one that does not sting. Convenient pre-measured packets make it easy to use and take with you when you're away from home. As with any washes, though, if you're severely congested this will not work - and could make you feel temporarily worse. Great as a preventative before your cold gets really bad. I use this regularly to keep my sinuses clear from allergies and mild colds and find this works great.

When we get allergy symptoms, we use nasal rinses- these plastic squeeze bottles are easier and more packable than the "neti pots" so many use.

An Indian friend of mine says they've been using nasal rinses in India for a long time- it's a good way to treat nasal symptoms without needing to use any medicine.

Sometimes it takes a few days of consistent use to work on congestion symptoms, but you feel the clearing of your sinuses right away.

You can also make your own saline solution by mixing in 2-3 tsp of NON-iodized salt per liter of water- and you can fill the bottle with warm tap water. (The boxes may say to use distilled water, but, I figure, it's just passing thru- plus if you can DRINK tap water, you should certainly be able to use it for nasal rinse!) [If the saline stings your nose, you can also add 1 tsp of bicarbonate of soda.]

(Hint- You may need to bend over and blow your nose with your head turned each way, afterward, depending on whether your sinuses curve or not. Or else, you may get a runny nose surprise when you lie down.)

I am so glad I discovered this a couple of years ago! I use this every morning in the shower and I no longer have episodes where my eyes swell shut and my nose turns red and runs until I take something to knock me unconscious for awhile. This was the best invention ever!
