Im not sure if these are biodegradable after their life span is up but I just wanted to let people know that there are many brands of dryer sheets-on drugstore.com especially, that are biodegradable. If these are biodegrade in the end then they'd be perfect to use in place of biodegradable sheets. These are better than using non biodegradable sheets, that's for sure! I do love how this brand doesn't test on animals <3

I bought a set of these when my son was an infant, and I'm still using them 3 years later. I have never had an issue with them...no splitting or snagging. The dryer balls have rounded tips, so there's no way to snag on anything. I have seen other dryer balls that have pointed tips, and those would snag. I use them in every load...great for cloth diapers, too, since you can't use dryer sheets with those. Well worth the money & will more than pay for itself!

We bought these in an effort to go greener. Dryer sheets are horrific landfill-fillers and high in chemicals. We're very pleased with these dryer balls.

RE: Other reviews -- I've had NO problems with towels. In fact, I bought new towels that were awfully linty and the dryer balls seem to be helping.)

TWO CAVEATS: (1) If you are drying synthetic fabrics, you may need to add a small ball of aluminum foil to fight static. We wear mostly cotton, so this hasn't been a big issue for us. When drying synthetics, though, the aluminum foil ball has worked great. (2) Don't dry a small load with the dryer balls when family members are sleeping. The balls have too much free movement and get a bit loud. Usually we don't hear them at all since we try to run the dryer only on full loads. I had an emergency pair of socks one time though... and the two socks plus dryer balls got a bit loud.

I love these! They cut down on drying time and my clothes are soft without any other softener.

I would be nice to be able to add scent if I wanted, but they work wonderfully as is. I haven't had any problems with my original set and I've been using them for about a year now.

I love these balls. They live in the dryer. I have used them on everything so far (about 6 weeks) with no problems and they do appear to shorten drying time. I have noticed no difference in the items coming out of the dryer using the dryer balls vs sheets. The balls have not caught or snagged on anything. The first time I used them I had to go on a hunt to find them as they had got caught up in some clothes.

Would work great if it didn't split open within the first month of buying it. Don't waste your money on this product.

These dryer balls are quieter than other brands I've tried - love them. The balls stay in my dryer all the time & are used in every load. I've never had a problem, so don't know what another review is talking about with them snagging towels. I have noticed less wrinkling & my towels seems flufflier without getting crunchy. Definitely worth a try!

I have used this product for close to a year and had a nasty surprise the first time I used them with my towels (including beach towels!). I was really disappointed to find that these dryer balls snagged all my towels. However, I do like how the dryer balls work with clothing. I just have to remember to take the balls out of the dryer when I'm drying towels! I would recommend to a friend, but with a warning not to use with towels.
