Best Uses Comments about Neutrogena Clear Face Sunscreen Lotion, SPF 55, 3 fl oz: I really liked this sunscreen at first; it definitely didn't leave my skin greasy the way most sunscreens do, and I wasn't an oilslick by noon. However, a week into using it I realized that it had caused an irritated patch of eczema on my forehead - dry, itchy, flakey skin that didn't go away until my derm prescribed a steroid cream. If you have sensitive skin, try a patch test on your arm for a few days.

Comments about Neutrogena Clear Face Sunscreen Lotion, SPF 55, 3 fl oz: The only thing I would change is the UVA rating of 2.7% -- most sunscreens that are highly protective contain 3%, and with my aging skin, I need the most UVA protection I can find. That said, this lotion is fairly matte for those who do not like a greasy film on their skin. The best matte sunscreen I ever used was Banana Boat Dri-Blok SPF30 which sadly has been discontinued. This Neutrogena product is a satisfactory substitute.

Best Uses Comments about Neutrogena Clear Face Sunscreen Lotion, SPF 55, 3 fl oz: I used this product for about a week. I noticed when I first applied it that it burned, but it went away so I didn't think anything of it. By the end of the week I had a red rash all over my face. Pros

Best Uses Comments about Neutrogena Clear Face Sunscreen Lotion, SPF 55, 3 fl oz: I have been searching (and spending!!) for the perfect face sunscreen that will last for long days in the sun. This one works well as a sunscreen, stays on (can be hard to get off but since it isn't sticky or ghost-y white it's not that big of a deal) but it stings my skin upon initial application. The sting doesn't last too long or turn my face beet red like some sunscreens do but it's enough to make me return to the L'Oreal Sublime liquid face sunscreen for regular use. I prefer the matte look of this one (and it doesn't pill up like some matte sunscreens do, at least not that I have seen yet) but the burning is significant enough for me that I most likely won't buy this one again. I'm afraid to apply it in the sun because of the burning I only use it as my "before" exposure sunscreen and then I reapply with one that doesn't burn. I will use it until it is gone but I will not likely repurchase. Pros

Comments about Neutrogena Clear Face Sunscreen Lotion, SPF 55, 3 fl oz: This is by far my favorite water-resistant sunscreen! It has a matte finish, wears beautifully, and it doesn't make my sensitive, acne- and clog-prone skin angry. My husband and son use it too with no problems; we even use it as a body sunscreen for beach/pool days. It is lightweight and highly protective, and the price is great. My skin tends to have issues with the film formers in water-resistant sunscreen, so I don't use this daily (I use Cetaphil DermaControl Oil Control Moisturizer with Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 30 for daily sun protection), but for long days in the sun (be sure to reapply!) it cannot be beat! Comments about Neutrogena Clear Face Sunscreen Lotion, SPF 55, 3 fl oz: I was really skeptical about this, because I cant find it in drugstores, and I only found ONE review online. However, I'm glad I decided to give this a try. Displaying reviews 1-6 ![]() |
