I have very sensitive skin, and when a similarly afflicted friend recommended this, I tried it, and it is my new Holy Grail. I used to have two types of sunscreens---the high spf ones that were greasy and caked up for serious outdoors activities, and much lower ones for every day wear with makeup. This does both!

I used to use this when I was about 18-20 years old and I had very oily skin. It worked really well then because I was acne-prone and this never clogged my pores. However, at age 30, my skin is dry and has mild rosacea. I thought I would give this another try given all of the good reviews and my previous experience. I was really disappointed. I applied it after my rosacea topical and at first I thought it was going well because it spread rather well. Then after it started to dry, it clung to all my dry skin and dried powdery. I was left with skin screaming for moisture, with a white residue that balled up every time I tried to fix it. I had to wash it all off and start over again, using a separate moisturizer and a separate sunscreen. So disappointed given this is marketed for sensitive skin. Dry rosacea prone folks, beware.

Comments about Neutrogena Healthy Defense Daily Moisturizer SPF 50 with PureScreen, 1.7 oz:

I have used Neutrogena sunscreen/moisturizer combos for many years. They have always performed beautifully, been highly rated in consumer tests and by dermatologists, all within a reasonable price range. This mineral sunscreen for sensitive skin is new to me and I like it much better than the heavier, chemical version at the same SPF. This blends in faster, leaves no chalky white film, (the regular one does), and feels more natural and light on my face. I am loving it and ordering more.

I would use the sensitive skin in the summer and the regular one in the winter

With an SPF 50, this is the best daytime protection you can get for the money. It absorbs well and isn't shiny. Because the tube is small, you have to replace it frequently so the SPF cannot outdate. !RECOMMEND!RECOMMEND!RECOMMEND!

I like that this is a mineral sunscreen, not a chemical sunscreen. We've been trying to gradually reduce chemicals in all the products we use. Despite being mineral-based, this does not leave any white/chalky residue. I put on the sunscreen, then do my eye makeup. By the time my eye makeup is done, the sunscreen has dried enough to put on my facial mineral makeup. I buy this product 3 at a time so I always have one ready at home, at the gym, and if I start to run out.
