It may seem excessive, but when you are fair, and have a history of skin cancer in your family - it never seems like enough protection! There wasn't any real smell, which is nice; I also loved how easily it glided on. This product doesn't make me greasy or white, soaks in quickly, and moistruizes perfectly. I'm very fair and burn easily without wearing a high SPF daily. My dad's a dermatologist and brough home samples and I love this! Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Was this review helpful? I have tried the more expensive brands of sunscreen (Josie Maran, Kate Sommerville) and also have make up with SPF. The Josie Maran is a bit heavy, nice for winter. I have the Kate Sommerville now and like but it is over $50 for 2 oz. I have this and I really cannot tell the difference. I would have given this product 5 stars, if it weren't for the VERY strong fragrance! It doesn't smell bad, it's just very strong and nearly gives me a headache. NEUTROGENA are you listening? PLEASE stop ruining such a great product with heavy fragrance! Or please offer it in an unscented version! Otherwise, it is the best facial sunscreen I've ever used. This liquid moisturizer is truly liquid and feels very light on your skin. I love how well hydrated my skin feels while being protected from the negative effects of the sun. It absorbs better than most other sunscreens that I've tried. I gave 4 stars because it leaves a sheen on my face and unless I use a compact on top of it, my face looks oily. otherwise, it is a great product. Gentle on my sensitive skin. I used under my tinted moisturizer product (I always use a moisturizer first...I guess my skin requires it) and it was a good base for that. But, while it is nice and light, i dont find that it moistuizes as well as the Neutrogena Ultra-Sheer Sunblock, which I live by!
