i use it instead of primer or on lazy days with loose powder only. it doesn't really smell, and i had no strange reactions to it (combinational skin type, not sensitive! - i don't know how it will work on sensitive)
my only problem with it - it works under certain foundations. for me it worked great with covergirl natureluxe. but with the neutrogena foundation it didn't work and turned into a mess. it worked undre a few other european brand foundations i own (yves rocher), and not others (loreal, maybeline).
anyway, it is great on its own and with loose powder so if you do not require medium to full coverage, definately get this.

I bought this product a few years ago and tossed it out because I broke out horribly while using this and the Neutrogena Intensives cream. What I did know then was that retinol was good for you, but what I didn't know is that with introducing any skincare product like that you can have irritation and you should go slow. I steered clear of anything with retinol in it because I didn't want to go through THAT again.
Fast forward a few years when Olay Definity caused milia on me because it was too rich, and mineral makeup dried me out which showed every line on my face and then made me overproduce in oil, I went back to this because little did I know how much of a miracle worker this was. Antioxidants, SPF, sheer coverage and retinol. WOW! I went back to this because I'm approaching 30 and wanted to include AHA/BHAs and retinols into my skincare routine, plus I hate using any type of foundation on a daily basis. It does have very sheer coverage and will even out skin tone or tone down the look of small blemishes at best. I do use another moisturizer under it with SPF for extra coverage and other ingredients this doesn't have to get the best benefit. When I first started using this again I did have some itchy skin irritation and dryer skin as I got used to the retinol. Just give your face a break for a few days, then try again until you get used to it. Using a moisturizer underneath will also help to buffer that.
DO NOT use this if you are pregnant or trying to become pregnant as retinol can cause birth defects. Also, DO NOT use this as a regular sunscreen (or leave the bottle out in light) because retinol degrades in the sun and some forms can even be harmful on the skin. The SPF will work fine for protecting you from normal circumstances, but don't wear this if you plan on being outside all day.

I have a love/hate relationship with this TM - the ivory to fair blends well on my fair, freckled skin, but I think the retinol treatment is too much for my dry skin. Even though I apply a moisturizer prior to using this, by the end of the day my skin has dry, flaky patches that look obvious and sometimes irritated - and my expression lines also look more defined after a couple hours of having this on. I have tried applying it with my fingers (as directed) as well as a kabuki brush - the kabuki seems to give me a more desirable, smooth look. The container is cool because it's a pump, so it's sanitary - sometimes if you don't use it for a couple days there will be a dried piece of makeup in the pump dispenser. I don't think I will repurchase this once it runs out, though I would recommend using it if you haven't tried it already. Overall it's a great product I just think my skin is too sensitive for the retinol day treatment.

Tried this product for 2 days, then started peeling. Stopped for a couple of days, and then tried it every other day- still caused peeling.

Neutrogena's Healthy Skin Enhancer tinted moisturizer is a great idea. Apply base and foundation in just one step? Yes, please! And it's a fairly sheer color, so it never looks caked on. Bonus: there is Retinol in this product, and it's at a strength where it can actually do some good for your skin. Also, a sunscreen level that is reasonable for most skin types.

However, I do wish the color choices had a greater range. The fairest tones of this line are not quite fair enough for me. (Yes I do glow in the dark. Why do you ask?) I can get around that by mixing the Neutrogena with a zinc or titanium based sunscreen, and that lightens it up enough for me to wear it (not to mention, it protects my rather sensitive skin from the sun even better than the Neutrogena by itself). And it makes the Neutrogena bottle last longer when I mix it with the other product. Another bonus!

I have combination skin, and despite its shortcomings, I like this product. It's very lightweight and gives skin a nice, soft, dewy look immediately. However, I found that in my oily areas, particularly the forehead, that dewy look turns oily and the makeup disappears within a few hours. Near-hourly blotting with those little oil-absorbing sheets makes it wearable, but unfortunately it still won't last through the entire work day. I still use it on weekends sometimes when I don't want a really "made up" look.

The combination of moisturizer, tint AND SPF is why I bought this...saves time. It is nice and light, and great for summertime!

I've been trying new kinds. This is a "lotion" and works good for that if you have clear skin and want to run out of the house quickly. I needed it because i kept breaking out from other foundations i had been using-> had really dry and pealing skin. I gave it to my daughter and it works GREAT for her because it is 2 in 1. Lotion and foundation. Feels very light on the skin, but the color was too dark for me...perfect for my 16 y/o!!

not only does this work well for my very fair skin and avoid the pancake look i hate with some other makeups, i also tried it on a friend with acne and a skin type one darker than mine. it helped to cover the acne and blended with the darker tone. this minimizes my freckles, makes my skin look healthy and glowing, and even helps to cover blemishes a little. it's not super moisturizing, but it has a little extra moisture. the only con is that if you leave it on your skin overnight you may get blemishes in problem areas, but that's true of most makeups. if you sweat it will run a little, but your skin won't look bad... if you hold your cell phone or something up to your face, it may get a little bit of makeup on it.

bottom line is i love this product and will probably never use another foundation unless they stop making it.
