I have used foams, lotions and sprays. I recently had a personal spray tan where a person actually sprayed a sugar product on me. I paid a total of $60 to have the proceedure done on 2 consecutive days, and was disappointed. I get better results using the micromist from Neutrogena. Here are some helpful hints. Use the product at night before you go to bed. Do not shower or shave before hand. Shaving will create the little dots effect. Always rub the product in and use a hairdyrer to speed drying time. After one hour, reapply then go to bed. It is best not to have plans the next day in case you need to do some touch-ups. Be very careful around your feet, ankles and nails. Press your foot onto a stool and try to simulate where the sun actually hits your foot taking care around excessively dry areas like your heels and between your toes. I wouldn't plan on wearing flip flops or sandals until you perfect this area. After you have rubbed the product in wash your hands with soapy water being careful to only get your hands wet, not your arm. Then dry hands thoroughtly and spray the tops of your hands lightly, rubbing the backs of them together gently. Try not to breathe in the product and walk out of the room frequently. For the price I do recommend this product. With some practice and patience you should achieve great results. Though it does give your skin nice color, it leaves your skin streaky and blotchy. It also takes a while for it to completly settle and absorb into your skin. Above all, I would not recomend this product for anyone who has never used a self tanning product before. Reviewed by 71 customers Sort by Displaying reviews 1-10 Previous | Next » Pros

Comments about Neutrogena MicroMist Tanning, Sunless Spray, Deep, 5.3 oz: Ok before I start here is a little "about me":I live in Miami, I tan VERY WELL (I get really dark but am afraid of sun damage). The average spray tan in my area is $50 a pop - ouch. My skin is combination oily/dry, sensitive to chemicals and breaks out easily.I bought a LEVEL3 deep tan. It was easy to use. I couldn't reach my back so my bf did it for me. I let it dry (which was more like 10-15 mins) and went to bed without showering. The next day I noticed my skin was nicely tan - it was more golden than brown which is different than how I tan naturally but it still looked realistic and dark. I didn't notice any self tanner smell after I took a shower. In the natural light I noticed that I had missed some spots and had a streak or two. When I got home I sprayed on a second coat let it dry and the streaks and spots were gone. It looks really great. My skin gets dry from the alcohol so I really have to moisturize well when I get out of the shower (but that's fairly normal for me, as I mentioned I have problems with my skin)This product is easy for me to find ([$] @ the drug store [$] @ [@]). One bottle lasted me for 4 full body/face coverage. Some tips: Don't spray too close!!! It will run down your legs and streak. Also see if you can find someone to assist you for the hard to reach spots. Don't bend your joints for the first 15 mins to avoid having the tanner collect in the creases! Pros

Comments about Neutrogena MicroMist Tanning, Sunless Spray, Deep, 5.3 oz: Like with any self tan that isn't tented, you may miss a spot and not know it until later, but I still love this product. Especially for the back. Pros

Comments about Neutrogena MicroMist Tanning, Sunless Spray, Deep, 5.3 oz: I bought three cans of this stuff from drugstore.com back in 2006. I used about two of the cans and the third one ended up under my sink for 5 years. I finally pulled it out last week and did a small test area on my arm to see if it would still work okay. It works exactly the same. I like this stuff because It does give me a natural darker color. As long as I don't coat the stuff on me, it dries pretty fast. It doesn't smell bad but it doesn't smell good. I definitely would recommend this product in dark for anyone. I gave it 4 stars because I wish it smelled better like fruity and if I did coat it on, I wish it would dry quicker. Pros

Comments about Neutrogena MicroMist Tanning, Sunless Spray, Deep, 5.3 oz: I actually use this product year round...yes, I am a pale face! I think the results are much more even than a lotion tan, and certainly easier and quicker to apply. I do not think the results are as good as a professional spray tan...but then I haven't sprayed myself for as long a duration in one application as the professionals do. I find it necessary to moisturize my skin more becuase I think it is a tad drying. I find a better result than the many, many other products I have tried. Caveat: I just moved to a home with a light, cream colored carpet in the bathroom...it now has a tan too! Pros

Comments about Neutrogena MicroMist Tanning, Sunless Spray, Deep, 5.3 oz: I like to use this spray in the winter for my face/neck area. It's really easy to use - I usually apply after I wash my face at night, and the next day, I have a nice glow. It has a slight odor, but nothing too overwhelming. I definitely recommend it! Pros

Comments about Neutrogena MicroMist Tanning, Sunless Spray, Deep, 5.3 oz: Have used this product on my legs and arms along with one other tanning lotion and it seems to be an easy "touch-up". However, even spraying must be done. I avoid the knees and elbows. Very easy and non messy. Pros

Comments about Neutrogena MicroMist Tanning, Sunless Spray, Deep, 5.3 oz: I am a cancer survivor who had plenty of radiation so I try to not tan like I used to - so this is perfect! Very natural looking and almost always very even color. I like that I can even spray my back and shoulders and get good even color! Love it! Displaying reviews 1-10 Previous | Next » ![]() |
