The problem is it gets everywhere. Very difficult to apply and have it stay where you put it. So glad I got it as a freebie because it wasn't worth buying on its own. I won't be buying any of this brand. If you have to use a lip brush to apply it, that's not a good lipstick! It's supposed to be able to be applied straight from the tube. I think it'd be best for Halloween or other dress-up events where you know it's a costume and don't necessarily care if it ends up on your chin or on your glass or stays on through a kiss. Maybe I'll donate it if I get tired of it taking up space in my lipstick drawer. Don't confuse this with Neutrogena's old lipstick formula from the mid-90s, which was rich, saturated color that stayed on for hours -- now there was a great lipstick! I get loads of compliments every time I wear it. I save it for dressy, special occasions. It is indeed a very bright color, but works great for my fair skin tone. Makes my teeth look whiter. For all the reviwers who complained about the bright color, maybe its just not for your skin tone. The bright pink with a slight red undertone is a gorgeous color indeed. Luv it! Haven't found any more colors at drugstore.com, maybe need to look elsewhere for more colors.

I was about to trash this when I decided to use my finger and rub a little color off the lipstick and apply to my lips lightly...it almost creates a stain and then put a little clear gloss over it. It actually looked pretty decent. That is the ONLY way I would wear it. Of course this only works when you're at home because your finger turns pink (better to use a lip brush - I don't have one). I love intense lip color, but this looked like paint. It was a very strange consistency- almost like a paint or a stain. It was the craziest lipstick I have ever tried. And it was very difficult to wipe off or even wash off. I don't know why they call it "Moisture Shine" because its not moisturizing or shiny- in fact, I would say it was drying and fairly matte. It is an absolutely awful color that I cannot see looking good on anyone! I looked like a clown and I can pretty much wear any color b/c of my skin tone. I could hardly get if off. The finish is wonderful. It's glossy but not "wet" and best of all, it doesn't bleed into the lines around my mouth. This is a really outstanding lipstick. |
