It is gentle, yet it removes the grime and goo of the day. It does have an unusual texture though, but overall, it is superb. No stinging, no dryness, just pure clean for my Normal to Oily skin. My husband also uses it and he has dry skin from his daily shaving routine, but after washing with this product his skin is hydrated and smooth - Not irritated. Give it a try! Comments about Neutrogena Naturals Purifying Facial Cleanser, 6 fl oz: used all sorts of cleansers and this one takes the cake. it smells fabulous and i love the feel of it. i do not like neutrogena because they are a big wig corp that usually tests on animals, so that is the only downsdie of the product, but i will let this one slide because this product in particular is not tested on animals (or so the container says). Comments about Neutrogena Naturals Purifying Facial Cleanser, 6 fl oz: I love this cleanser. It's not at all harsh, but has naturally derived salicylic acid to help keep skin acne free. I use this in conjunction with the Neutrogena Naturals Fresh Cleansing + Makeup Remover. If I've had a particularly oily day/night, or if I feel a breakout coming on, I'll use this cleanser. I have pretty oily skin and it removes dirt and oil without a tight itchy feeling you sometimes get with harsher acne cleansers. I will buy again. However, after one wash my face was red and irritated, and felt that way all the next day. I don't normally have sensitive skin, so I don't know why this product made me react so badly, but I returned it. The scent is also very synthetic and perfumed, something especially undesirable in an "all-natural" product. Overall, avoid this cleanser. Comments about Neutrogena Naturals Purifying Facial Cleanser, 6 fl oz: I am 40-something, and I'm dealing with oily, acne-prone skin that is NOW showing fine lines. A harsh cleanser exacerbates the lines, but a really mild cleanser doesn't clean my pores. This cleanser walks the fine line between and does a good job for me. I have pre-rosacea skin (flush easily and painfully) and TONS of allergies, but I've had no sensitivity issues with this cleanser. Of course, I always patch test before putting something new on my whole face :) I use this cleanser with my Clarisonic, and it works every bit as well as the spendy cleansers that I've used recently. Just as a precaution: anyone with aspirin sensitivity or sensitivity to benzoates should patch test first. Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Was this review helpful? Comments about Neutrogena Naturals Purifying Facial Cleanser, 6 fl oz: I gave this a try from the pore refining cleanser because it's being discontinued and this has more natural ingredients. I have dry sensitive skin and am in my 30's. I love the smell. I have to wash my bangs with my face wash or it will break out. I can use less than a dime size drop to wash my face and bangs. This works as well as Avalon Orgainics sensitive skin face wash. It's nice to see a review that said the willow bark is a natural salicylic acid but I haven't seen a difference in my wrinkles. It does not leave my skin too dry. I have the same if not more breakouts than before. I still use the pore refining cleanser for the anti-wrinkle aspect several times a week. It does a good light cleaning, but the heavy perfume is nasty and overpowering. I usually like Neutrogena products, but I can't think most people who would like a natural product would want heavy perfume. I won't buy again unless they offer a fragrance-free version, which is what they should have started with in my opinion. Comments about Neutrogena Naturals Purifying Facial Cleanser, 6 fl oz: This is the best cleanser I've tried in years and I'm a product junkie! You don't need much, just a dab, so it's a good value. It dissolves a full face of makeup, I even massage it around my eyes and lashes, no irritation. After a rinse, my skin feels squeaky clean but NOT stripped. I usually follow with moisturizer or night serum, but I wouldn't HAVE to; because my skin feel soft and supple (instead of dry and tight like other products I've tried.
