I decided to get this for use in the summer because of the grapefruit in it, it smells so good! I have adult acne due to stress . my skin is combination oily to dry.. (oily in summer and dry in winter)
This cleanser looks more like a Gel than a cream but it is thick and foams up very well. it's unlike any cream cleanser i have tried before and surprisingly it is very moisturizing which you dont normally see, most cream cleansers strip too much oil from the face causing dryness but this does Not do that at all.
It does contain AHA (alpha hydroxy acid) which can cause irritation to very sensitive skin, however i did not experiance any irritation with this so i am very happy with the results so far.

I do not have sensitive skin. I actually have really nice skin, and can use just about any product. Finding the "right" cleanser has never been an issue. I usually switch facial cleansers every time I run out of product. I used this same cleanser about a year ago, but then switched to the Pink Grapefruit Exfoliating Cleanser by Neutrogena to get the benefits of exfoliation. I loved the exfoliation so much that I stuck with that cleanser for about 6 months -- which is unusual for me! Once I started swimming again this winter, I decided that the exfoliator probably wasn't the best for my dried out skin, so I switched back to the cream cleanser. After using this cream cleanser for only a couple of days, I had the worst breakout I've ever had -- and I don't breakout, ever. I had about 15 disgusting pimples on my face in a matter of days, and acne treatments weren't working at all. I immediately stopped using this cleanser once I realized that it was probably the cause of this breakout, and wouldn't you know, within a few days my skin was back to normal. This cleanser not only caused a breakout, but my skin actually PEELED off my face! This was the worst experience I've ever had with a cleanser!!! I don't normally write reviews, but I felt it necessary to warn all potential buyers!

Love this product - refreshing smell, keeps my skin clear and breakout-free, and my skin never feels dried out. Great for daily use, even on mature faces (I am several decades beyond adolescence...)

Comments about Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Cream Cleanser, Pink Grapefruit, 6 fl oz:

I usually have quite bad acne breakouts on my back. I have tried a variety of products, with varying success. Eventually I settled on this cleanser, which works really well. The skin on my back is much healthier and much less prone to breakouts. I use this cleanser daily together with a mesh brush with a handle for my back.

Comments about Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Cream Cleanser, Pink Grapefruit, 6 fl oz:

I had bought this awhile back, thinking it was a daily cleanser but even with my oily skin, this product made my skin REALLY dry. So, I shelved it and pretty much forgot about it until today. This morning I discovered a pimple growing on my nose, and having nothing else around, I grabbed the cleanser and scrubbed for about five minutes (I got distracted, so that's why I did that for so long haha). And a few hours later I noticed that the pimple was completely gone! YAY!

Oh, and, imo it really does smell like grapefruit.

            Luscious!!02/09/2013
I have been a huge fan of the Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Grapefruit products (wash, scrub and wipes) for a couple of months now so I purchased the Cream Cleanser to try. I REALLY, REALLY love it. It feels just like a very expensive cleanser and I've wasted so much money on anti acne & anti wrinkle products. Luscious is the best way to describe this cleanser but it has ingredients to treat and prevent acne as well. It makes my face tingle so I feel like the important ingredients are penetrating deep into my skin to unclog my pores leaving them free of sebum which causes me to break out with cystic acne. I use one (I have & love them all) of the Neutrogena Grapefruit products to cleanse my face TWICE daily and I apply the Neutrogena Rapid Clear Fight & Fade Toner after every cleansing -- EVERY single day!

I have a problem with whiteheads & trapped pores that lead to painful cystic acne pimples on my chin & along my jawline. I am very oily in the t-zone, normal on the cheeks. I'm 46 so I have a few deep wrinkles on my forehead and crows feet. I also have a few old acne scars. I have so many things going on so I had a hard time finding a treatment for all of these things. Salicylic Acid is the answer to my prayers because this active ingredient treats and prevents every one of my problems which is why I went with the Neutrogena Acne products that contain 2% Salicylic Acid. I was very surprised when my wrinkles became less apparent and thrilled that this ingredient controls my acne break outs. I try very hard to drink plenty of water to keep toxins flushed from my body, change my pillowcase often (do not lay your face on a dirty, oily, make-up or hair product absorbed pillowcase), clean my phone with alcohol regularly and I keep my hands/fingers off of my face to keep down the transference of dirt & bacteria and I NEVER skip cleansing & applying the toner every morning and before bed. As you can tell, I put real effort into acne prevention but it has really paid off. I have to constantly stay on my teenage son about this because he's a little lazy. It never fails, if he skips doing this ---- he pays for it with break outs!! He also had serious back acne but the Neutrogena Body Clear Spray has it under control but he can't skip a shower (with antibacterial body wash) OR using the spray which contains 2% salicylic acid. Now, one pimple may pop up occasionally but he uses the sulphur mask as a spot treatment overnight or for a couple of nights to get rid of it.

FYI: Keep in mind that RARELY does ONE product eliminate acne. I only have light acne and I must be diligent in the prevention of it. I still have a break out rarely but every once in a while so I apply a dot of sulphur mask (any brand) onto the area and leave it overnight. Benzoyl Peroxide products do not work for ME - they are not drying enough. PLEASE if you have serious acne and the anti-acne kits do not work for you - seek medical advice! There is no reason for anyone to be traumatized by acne and this happens often especially with teenagers. Most regular doctors will treat acne too so an expensive appointment with a specialist or dermatologist isn't necessary so check with your regular M.D. Good luck!!

I've been using this cleanser for a while. I find that it doesn't dry my skin out like the other Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Facial Cleanser (the one that comes in the pump bottle). It smells great and it makes my skin feel soft and clean after use :)

I had been using the Olay Professional Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System for quite a while but was not satisfied with the cleanser that came with it. I decided that I wanted an acne wash, so I gave this a try. Right away, I hated the smell, but decided to stick with it at least until it was all gone. After a few days, I had to do a double take in the mirror. My skin had a brightness and a clarity that I had not seen for a long time. I love the way my skin looks thanks to this product. I will definitely continue to use it.
