Reviewers who said that it left a film, I don't think that they rinsed thoroughly enough, or they didn't moisten their skin enough before applying the product. I have moderate acne that I have struggled with for years, and with this scrub, I never wake up to any whiteheads. It's wonderful. There is an awful film that remains that makes my skin still feel unwashed. I had to mix this product with another cleanser to get it to actually rinse clean. I have never experienced this kind of incomplete result with an "acne scrub". Also not much scrub in it. By the way, my skin is not oily. It is gentle but still gives your face that fresh-scrubbed feeling; it maintains a clear complexion (I use it alternating with the cream cleanser of the same brand.) It won't magically make blackheads disappear, but if anyone finds that product that can actually do THAT, I hope they make a lot of money on it... It clears up my acne so well and prevents breakouts. I use this to take away pimples and use other things to gently clean my face since I think this is a little harsh for using 2 times a day. It is the perfect face wash! The scrub isn't harsh and irritating, just enough exfoliation to make you feel like you're really getting a good, deep down clean out of your routine. I combine this with Stridex Triple Action with Salicylic Acid, Maximum Strength Alcohol Free Acne Pads (which are also great--no alcohol=no dryness!), and lastly Neutrogena Rapid Clear Acne Defense Lotion. My skin has improved so much in 2 weeks. I actually documented my progress! I had 10 major pimples all over my face when I first started using this regimen. I now HAVE ONE! And NO NEW BREAKOUTS! YAY! I was surprised after using this because it left my skin very soft and not dry! This is a complete turnaround from the Oil Free Acne Cream Cleanser which cleans your skin well, but also leaves it extremely dry. I only gave it 4 stars because I've only used this a couple times, so I don't know if it will help my skin in the long run. Let's hope so!!
