Another great Neutrogena product that gets the same results as expensive brands, and I've tried many of them but always keep going back to Neutrogena products. This cleanser smells EXACTLY like grapefruit, which I don't mind at all and find refreshing. It's the only cleanser that works well to control blackheads and whiteheads on my VERY oily adult face. Left my skin VERY smooth and clean feeling but not stripped or flaky even after multiple uses. I use it with my Clarisonic for best results, and follow with Neutrogena Clear Pore Toner afterward. For my VERY oily skin, it works well to minimize my large, sebum-filled pores without dryness or irritation. A homerun in my continuous quest to keep my oily face at bay, even in my adult years.

Very very drying. Grapefruit is an irritation citrus with volitile components. It's a good thing that it is rinsed down the drain before it can do too much damage, since grapefruit can cause contact dermatitis or a phototoxic reaction when exposed to sunlight, so do you really want to include that in your skincare routine to begin with? You're much better off without it, trust me.
I also noticed that one reviewer said it is drying, but that is a part of clearing acne. This is somewhat true, yes you want to absorb the oil on your face using blotting papers, mattifying lotions, and masks (plain ol' mild of magnesia makes a GREAT mask, with soothing and mild disenfecting properties, fyi) BUT, you don't want to overdry skin, because when that happens, the sebacious glands compensate for the extreme loss of oil by producing even MORE, making your face just that much worse. Basically, the best cleanser for ANY skin type is a GENTLE one.

Comments about Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Facial Cleanser, Pink Grapefruit, 6 fl oz:

I am really surprised at the number of people who say this smells really great --- the first thing that hit me was the unpleasant fragrance. I have used other grapefruit scented washes (my body wash is grapefruit), with a nice pleasing citrus smell, but this is really off and I hate to say it, reminds me of strong body odor. I did read a few others that described it as a cat pee or rotting grapefruit smell -- to me it smells like I am sticking my face into a sweaty armpit (sorry for that visual but it's pretty bad). I usually wouldn't hesitate to buy Neutrogena, but would not buy this again because of the smell. Given that other people seem to love the odor, maybe it's just negative for certain people. Does not irritate my face like others have said though.

Comments about Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Facial Cleanser, Pink Grapefruit, 6 fl oz:

The two most important things I require in a facial cleanser are:
      1. It must leave a clean feeling to the face.
      2. It must not smell badly.
This cleanser delivers both at a fair price. The smell is wonderful...fresh and clean. I use this product every evening in the shower and occasionally in the morning as well. I have pretty much normal skin, no acne. I find that it cleans well and leaves no film. It does not dry my skin or irritate it at all, and I am over 50. I did try the cream version, but it did not leave as clean a feeling. I do not wear much make-up, if any at all, so I cannot say how well it will remove it, but it does do well with removing dirt. I don't put regular moisturizer or treatments on my skin and this cleanser leaves my skin clean and fresh looking. I have tried many products, both expensive and cheap, and this one is my favorite. It is not the least expensive, but definitely a bargain.

I use this every day with neutrogenas deep clean invigorating scrub, it works within 1 week, and my forehead+nose had almost no whiteheads or blackheads. this is the best facial wash EVER, unless you have dry skin, sensitive skin or an allergy to grapefruit. if you use this twice a day use a moisterizer, and if you have oily skin you dont need to use a moisterizer

Comments about Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Facial Cleanser, Pink Grapefruit, 6 fl oz:

After 4 days of using this product I had to stop due to the grapefruit/fragrance causing an allergic reaction in my skin. I first noticed a rash behind my ear lobes. I assume some product got back there that was not washed off properly. That was a very bumpy, red, itchy rash. But now the rest of my face has a rough texture all over, there is peeling around my nose and I have the telltale tiny rash bumps in spots. I've had an allergic reaction like this only once before. It was many years ago with a similarly strong citrus smelling lotion (can't remember the name and couldn't figure out what caused it back then). So beware of this product if you have sensitive skin! (I have fair skin with occasional photosensitivity, but otherwise don't have other allergies.) If you still try this product I recommend testing it first on a patch of skin OTHER than your face! What stinks is that this cleanser really seems to help clear up acne and smells wonderful. After my skin returns to "normal" I am going to try the original Oil Free Acne Wash again(haven't used it in years because I'm not a fan of the smell) in hopes of better results. :\

i thought i'd give this a try because i just ran out of my st. ive green tea cleanser. i started to notice right away that my skin felt SUPER dry after using it once. Several days later, my skin started to form little FLAKES! I can't even wear any makeup because of the tiny flakes on my face that makes it look cakey. My skin is so sensitive now after using this cleanser for a few days that it even hurts to wash with Cetaphil. :( Totally sucks because the scent is just heavenly! Definitely returning this product ASAP! People with sensitive and dry skin SHOULD NOT use this!

Comments about Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Facial Cleanser, Pink Grapefruit, 6 fl oz:

I often try to switch cleansers, but always find myself coming back to this one. It's not perfect, but it is a fairly solid product. I have very sensitive skin and this does not irritate it, though it dries it out like crazy.

The smell is nice, though I wouldn't say it is really a natural grapefruit smell, but it is better than the medicated scent many acne cleansers have. It removes my makeup well (I only use a separate makeup removal product for eyeliner/mascara).

Until I find something that works better for me at a reasonable price, I'll keep buying this (and making sure I have plenty of moisturizer in my medicine cabinet).

Hmm I'm almost 100% positive these poor people experiencing severe burning skin is an allergy to grapefruit.. Have you ever googled a fruit/food allergy?
I am allergic to almost every raw fruit and veggie, but this doesn't effect me though.

But anyway, I love this product, it leaves my skin not oily at all and it smells so amazing!
It does make it feel a tiny bit dry, but nothing a small dab of cetaphil lotion won't fix.
I love this product and definitely will buy more once I use up the bottle.

Comments about Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Facial Cleanser, Pink Grapefruit, 6 fl oz:

I have PCOS and around 21 began suffering from acne for the first time in my life. I'm 29 now and still searching for that miracle product to give me MY skin back. Until I was about 27 I had severe acne with everything from little tiny blackheads to deep painful cystic bumps. I have blemishes on my cheeks now from the years of failed treatments. I've always been a fan of Neutrogena and I bought this product in the facial and the body wash just because it was a new one. Ironically before it arrived my friend told me about how wonderful Pink Grapefruit Neutrogena is for the skin.

My initial thoughts about this product were "wow really smells like grapefruit!" and "this stuff sure doesn't foam much." I used it a few times and it seemed ok. Not much better than other products, still not worse. For a month I didn't use either every day. The face wash I mainly use 2-4 times per week with my other regimen. I use the body wash maybe 4 times per week and half the time I follow with the Dove Cream Oil Body Wash just in case the Neutrogena is drying. (haven't noticed any out of ordinary dryness)

I hadn't paid much attention to any changes until my hubby (who is a compulsive pimple popper YUCK) performed his routine back/body search looking for pimples on me he could pop before I could stop him. He was disappointed when he found NOTHING. I thought "hmm maybe the stuff really does work." Then i thought further. I ALWAYS get a couple of VERY painful DEEP cystic nodules before my time of the month. They last for about 10 days no matter how much I put on them. This month there were NONE! That time completely caught me off guard this month because I didn't have that telltale problem!

It's only been one month, and I'm not saying this is a miracle treatment, but I am definitely pleased to give this product the respect it deserves. I will monitor through the second and third months to see if I'm even still getting pimples or not because I honestly have no clue. Also, it's only been one month.

In addition to this product, I cleanse my face and neck almost daily with green alcohol (any kind but review posted on this site under rite aide green rubbing alcohol). I follow with Thayer's Rose Petal Alcohol Free Witch Hazel with Aloe Vera (review also posted there) also use the Neutrogena facial moisturizer with SPF 15 and Vitamins...I think A, K, B, and E. It's GREAT!!! I don't think they sell it on this site but I noticed more youthful, refreshed looking and feeling skin immediately. Sometimes I use the face wash, then follow by the alcohol and Thayer's then moisturize. Others i use just face wash and moisturizer or just alcohol and Thayer's and moisturizer. My skin is now SO soft and smooth. Those old blemishes have not completely faded away, but they have largely decreased and there are only a few remaining stubborn blemishes that I don't even notice anymore. In addition I'm running my hands over my face now and all I feel is SMOOTH, soft, BUMPLESS skin!
