Although I don't have a persistent acne problem, before using Neutrogena's product, I might get a pimple every few weeks or so. I've been using this oil-free acne wash for about a year now, and I must say it's worked for me in preventing re-occurrences and (when they do occur) severity/duration of pimples or breakouts. I've had moderate acne for many years and have not been able to find a single product that works for me. I cannot use products with benzoyl peroxide because I have a horrible skin allergy to it, and dermatologist appointments are expensive. This product cleanses well, but leaves my skin feeling uncomfortably tight and dry, and I still break out. Didn't really make anything worse or better, just not very effective. Comments about Neutrogena Oil-Free Cream Cleanser Salicylic Acid Acne Treatment, 6.7 fl oz: I was happy to see they had brought back this favorite skin cleanser unfortunately they have made some changes to it. The first thing is it smells different it has more of a perfumey scent to it and then it made my skin kind of red and seemed to do nothing to clear my occasional pimples. There used to be a old formula that worked really good the pimples would clear really fast this sadly does nothing. Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend (1 of 1 customers found this review helpful) Was this review helpful? Yes / No - You may also flag this review 11/6/2011 Decent product... Pros

Comments about Neutrogena Oil-Free Cream Cleanser Salicylic Acid Acne Treatment, 6.7 fl oz: I bought this product about 2 months ago i wanted to use it for at least that long before i gave my review..this product is super gentle most products for acne that i had used in the past dried out and pretty much tortured my skin...i use this product twice a day with absolutely no drying what so ever and i don't have oily skin to begin with..so this product is extremely gentle and will not dry out skin..as far as it stopping break outs it seems to do a pretty good job i guess...if you do get a zit it probably wont be as bad or last as long..but to say that it totally stops all acne is far fetched..over all its a good product to use just because its so gentle and it pretty much does what it says it will...I wouldn't recommend it to someone with severe acne cos i don't think it would cut it. Comments about Neutrogena Oil-Free Cream Cleanser Salicylic Acid Acne Treatment, 6.7 fl oz: I've used Neutrogena Oil-Free Cream Cleanser for years and it worked great for my oily skin. This purchase came in an identical container, but it smells different & the texture is much smoother. Neither are bad, but it is now annoyingly more difficult to remove even with extra water splashing. Also, this item has been in very short supply [+ rumors being discontinued]. Drugstore.com is the only place I could find it, and regrettably purchased a lot thinking it would be the same. Importantly, so far it does seem to work the same [a huge plus!] but shouldn't be such a pain to remove. I believe it is much more gentle/less drying than the traditional Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash, making it more suitable for everyday use. Comments about Neutrogena Oil-Free Cream Cleanser Salicylic Acid Acne Treatment, 6.7 fl oz: I'm a teen so I have oily, acne-prone skin. When I use this, my face doesn't get oily all day, however it doesn't get rid of existing acne. I still get a little bit of acne with this, but nowhere near as much as I used to get. Comments about Neutrogena Oil-Free Cream Cleanser Salicylic Acid Acne Treatment, 6.7 fl oz: Easy to use, I have used this product for a good while and am reasonably pleased. It is more comfortable than a product with dermal abrasian addiative, but not sure that with out the dermal abrasian addiative it is really a better product. It is adequate and it adhears to my face well - I try to leave on as long as possible to take advantage of the salyic acid.
