My skin is just like that when it comes to ance medications. It will build up a tolerance and then the product will be ineffective. I would have to buy this once every 3 months or so in order to be constent with it, or I'd have to use it for a few weeks, switch to something else, and then switch back. Which is probably only adding to the acne that I'm trying to get rid of. But its inexpensive, and I trust this Neutrogena so I don't mind going back to it. I apply it on active breakouts and notice a big difference in the morning. All of the pimples I apply this spot treatment to are visibly smaller. Be careful not to overuse this product because it can definetely cause your skin to dry and start to flake. Overall, it really helps with my acne. Love it!  Pros

I have realized that none of the benzoyl peroxide products really work. I ended up buying Wipeout after a friend told be about it and it cleared my face in a month. I finished the Neutrogena product as well. But it was the Wipeout pill that worked, not this stuff. Pros Cons

I bought this because my friend swears by it, but it honestly did nothing for my pimples. If anything, it made them worse! The area where I applied the cream became dry and irritated, which looks worse than having a few pimples. To make matters worse, it left dark purple acne scars that take forever to disappear. Usually when I get a pimple, it leaves a light brown spot that disappears in a few weeks. But on the pimples where I applied this cream, it left oddly dark and stubborn acne scars. This is the worst acne product I have ever used. Pros

I tried it again this month (I only used it at night) , and All hell broke loose on my face, I broke out more than usual. I have sensitive skin, and it dried my skin extremely bad around my nose area and made it a super red color. I wouldn't recommend this product if you have sensitive skin at all, but what may not work for me may work for you all skin is different. Overall I did NOT like this acne cream. Pros

Right before I go to bed I rub this on my face and it shrinks my acne by morning. This on the spot acne treatment has saved me so many times from having an annoying breakout! Pros

They were really painful, too, the kind of acne that was large, inflamed and seemed to be set "deep" into the skin. This guy on the web suggested using this product along with a very gentle cleanser and moisturizer. Use the cleanser, let your skin dry off, apply thin coat of the acne med every day whether you currently have a break out or not, and then after the acne med. dries on your skin, moisturize. I have never had a break out since, and I've been following this routine since 2003. I'd say it works. My chin is never dried out from the product. I have had 3 occasions where my skin felt a bit irritated, but it went away very quickly. Pros

It works great, however, it smells pretty bad, and feels very heavy on the skin. I will keep on buying this, however, because it is very effective and the only 2.5 percent benzoyl peroxide cream in drugstores.
