If your skin is not used to Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA) or Beta Hydroxy Acids (BHA) please note that they are just that – acids, and they will irritate the skin causing an uncomfortable burning and/or stinging sensation, initially leaving your skin looking a bit red, like you've been slapped. It does a good job of removing leftover traces of makeup after washing my face and it makes you skin feel incredibly smooth and soft. However after using this for about 3 weeks, my skin is becoming very sensitive to it. It has started to make my skin literally sting after use, especially around my cheek area and forehead. I have not changed anything about my skin routine so this is a really big let down. Will not be repurchasing! I'd owned my first bottle for years and for some reason had stopped using it. I have oily skin and experience frequent breakouts on my cheeks and chin that take FOREVER to clear. When I ran out of the toner I had been using, I found my old bottle of Neutrogena Pore Refining Toner and began using it again, not expecting anything miraculous to happen. But (knock on wood) I have only experienced ONE blemish in this past month (I usually have lots more, and I can feel a lot of them trying to come to the surface) since using up this bottle of toner. I really think the glycolic acid in the product has helped a whole lot, but whatever the secret is, this toner has worked very, very well for me. I would highly recommend it. It seems it is not available here, so I bought this instead. I may have found a new favourite, as I need something that mildly exfoliates, keeping pores open to prevent chin breakouts. For the record, nothing actually reduces pore size. The only way to minimize pore appearance is by exfoliating daily and keeping them free of excess sebum and oil, which this product does quite well. I never really believed anything would make my crater-size pores smaller, but I saw an improvement after only one day of use, and it becomes more evident with continued usage. Using it only once a day (at night) is what works for me, and once in a while to freshen up. I've had significantly clearer skin since using this! I used it twice a day for 5 weeks along with all their entire Pore Refining line, and saw no results. As a toner it is ok (thus the one star), but it doesn't do what it says and if you want to minimize pores, try something else. I started using this toner a few years ago, not for acne, but to refine some bigger pores around my nose. Not just did it do it's job, but I also realized that around the time of having a cycle where I would usually get a few pimples, I had none or maybe one, every once in a while. I switched to a different product for a reason that I now cannot recall- (boredom?) and had to deal with breakouts and all kinds of stuff (at 30- unbelievable)!!! I am going back to this toner. I experienced dryness for 1 to 2 days, and after that my skin was left very soft. I love it. Displaying reviews 81-90
