Boy was I wrong. I ended up having to pop the zit because even after applying this stuff a few times throughout the day and before bed, it did nothing to the pimple. I figured maybe it was just that one pimple so since then I have tried it a few other times with the same ineffective results. Definitely not worth the money. You would be better off not putting anything on it to be honest. The gel has definitely been successful in shortening the life of the pimple (I bet nobody has ever said that before). As a person with a dark complexion, I prefer to use salicylic acid instead of benzoyl peroxide to fight pimples because the latter tends to irritate dark skin more. Anyway, like I said I've had great results with this gel and will continue to use it to treat the occasional pimple. Keep in mind that spot treatments will treat blemishes that are already surfacing - they won't do much in preventing new pimples form forming. That starts with your cleanser and if your skin is acne-prone, you should use a cleanser that has an acne fighting ingredient in it. Godspeed! I picked this up at the grocery store and it completely did the trick! I'm thrilled! Neutrogena clear pore cleanser/mask is also great. I like using it as a mask; the kaolin clay is great for absorbing extra oil from your pores! However, it does REDUCE my pimples, but it will take a week or so (and that's applying it twice a day) to go away, and it won't even completely vanish. For monster zits, I have to stick with B.P., but this has a nice, natural healing ingredient in it that doesn't make it totally worthless. In fact, I would say that I have pretty good skin by my friends account. However, a few days of the month, or simply when my stress sets in - that's when I can sense that a few zits are planning a break out. I did not use my regular moisturizer in addition. While it did not eliminate those bumps, my skin WAS less greasy because a gel is better than a lotion on oily skin. So that is what I used it for, daily--a moisturizer for my t-zone. I only used it this way because I didn't want to waste the tube. Now, as a salicylic acid gel to use on my t-zone as moisturizer, I will buy something less pricey--the multi-vitamin treatment or clear pore treatment (all Neutrogena). Bottom line: doesn't live up to its claims. I also like it because I have really sensitive skin, and although it's a little drying it doesn't irritate my skin. At first I thought the product was a little small, but it has lasted me a really long time. It also absorbs into the skin relatively quickly.
