I love this bar. I have combination skin that is prone to breakouts. This bar has been amazing. It does not dry and it did clear up my skin. Very affordable as well.

I have very sensitive skin and harsh soaps like Safeguard, or even milder soaps like Dove or Ivory, will irritate the skin on my back and chest. This is the only soap/body wash that I have tried that doesn't cause me to break out or irritate my preexisting acne. I only use the soap on my body and have noticed improved texture and reduced redness and inflammation in problem areas.
Other than that, the soap leaves a great "clean" feeling, without residue or greasiness.
The smell is a little strange and takes a little bit of time to get used to but is tolerable. I stopped noticing it after the first few days of usage. The only con I have for this soap is that it doesn't last very long, as it melts very easily and lathers really well.

I got stressed out and had a small break out...I decided to get this bar because i was sick of all the fancy face washes that don't work! I have learned over time that it seems best to keep it simple..Ive only used this bar for 2 days but so far i love it...normally i use cetaphil but it just lacks that really clean feeling you get after washing your face with a good product...the only downfall that i have found so far is that even tho this soap is fragrance free and sensitive it still burns my eyes a little but its nothing that would make me stop using it.

What a find! I started using this product because it is a recommended excellent/gentle soap for cleansing the perineum (the down there area), and then i decided to use it on my face since it is advertised as a facial soap for kicks. I have adult acne, and have been using other rather expensive products to combat it. Since I am older than a teenager, i find those other products effective, but very drying. I have to worry about dryness and wrinkles a-coming right?? (boo aging!) After two days of using this cleanser instead of the other one, my face was more supple and softer and surprisingly less oily. I did notice a few extra bumps on my forehead but they are tiny and i can live with it. After a week, some of my facial lines actually became less noticible and my skin is so smooth! I still have those bumps on my forehead but the pros are outweighing the cons. I also started using it as an all over soap instead of my body wash and wow!!!! My body is now softer too and i feel less need to slather on the body butter after a shower. I am so pleased, it's inexpensive and I can throw out all the rest of my expensive products and just use this for all skin and perineum cleansing. This product rocks!
I am thinking of maybe trying the acne prone bar soap next, but i have read the reviews and the consensus seems to be that it excessively dries the skin. I think I will wait for summer to try that one.

I've been looking for a good cleanser now that really works and doesn't affect my sensitive skin. Actually, I've been looking for a new regimen altogether!
I tried this out after reading a lot of reviews for a lot of different products. I had been using St. Ives products because they were gentle enough, but they never seemed to really improve my skin's appearance.
I started using this a week ago, and it's fantastic. My skin gets clean (squeaky clean in fact!). This seems to really clean the skin, lathers/foams up really well, the "unscented" smell is very mild and not noticeable, and leaves no residue. This doesn't battle waterproof mascara and/or eyeliner that well, but I'm not holding that against the soap. I had a little bit of drying on my nose, but that could've been due to something else in my new regimen* (listed below). But it only lasted 2-3 days and went away once I put lotion on.
All in all, this a great cleanser and perfect for traveling. Be sure to keep in a dish soap or in a place that will not get a ton of constant moisture. After reading the box, the soap melts easily I guess, though I haven't had issues in the week I've had it.

This is one of the few soaps I can use on my sensitive skin. I also use it for shaving as most shaving cremes irritate my skin. I think the secret is that it is made from glycerin and does not contain animal fat and therefore rinses very easily.

True, it does not last long, but the trick is to make sure the bar is kept in an absolutely dry place. It will melt if you place it in a wet soap dish. I store mine on the upturned nylon bristles of an old hair brush in the medicine cabinet well away from water.

Also, rub the bar directly on wet skin instead of cloth; it will last longer. Rub the end on your skin, not the side, to prevent winding up with a thin piece of soap that will break. Keep any left-over small pieces in an Altos tin, melt them over a candle flame, and - presto! - you have a new bar that you can carefully remove by running a knife around the edge.

I recently had laser surgery on my face and had to use a heavy ointment for a month. Since I have oily, acne prone skin (even at 52), I decided to try Neutrogena soap, as soon as I was able to after the procedure. I've been using it for about three weeks and haven't noticed it drying out my face too much, but also haven't seen a great change in my acne. It really doesn't last long once it is wet, but it also doesn't cost that much. I will probably keep using it for awhile to see if there is any improvement.
