I use the 70SPF for my face on a daily basis and use the 85SPF whenever I go scubadiving. I also cannot understand the other negative comments about these products. I have used other brands and have experienced stinging in my eyes, but with neutrogena, I have not experienced any. It is not sticky, blends well with my make up and I have not suffered any breakouts. Another reason why I chose these is because it does not have any parabens, although I cannot understand why the 55SPF has methyl, propyl and ethylparabens.

Ouch! This stung our faces something terrible swimming in the ocean. It also ran into my eyes while running and stung them terribly. I'll never put this on my face again.

I'm not 100% sure this actually offers any SPF protection at all. Either we sweated it off while sightseeing in the Caribbean, or it doesn't offer much sun protection. At SPF 70, you'd think you wouldn't burn, especially if you tend to tan... but we did anyway.

The product is also kind of difficult to apply, not because it sits on top of the skin, but it simply doesn't spread easily. You need to use twice as much sunblock as you normally would just to properly cover your skin. It also feels greasy when you enter the water, which makes me wonder if it's even getting absorbed into the skin.

We really preferred Banana Boat's Ultra Defense over this stuff, and at the price difference, we'll stick with that.

Chalky and dry, doesn't rub in

Comments about Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen , SPF 70, 3 fl oz:

I love Neutrogena but this stuff is dry, chalky, impossible to rub in and leaves streaks. I tried using it as a daily facial spf but every single time I wore it someone would point out a white streak on my face, no matter how long I spent trying to rub it in - and then trying to fix it just makes it roll up into white pilly balls of goo. Awful, unusable stuff. I even have white streaks all over my car, my purse, etc. from where it rubs off any anything you touch if you have it on your body. Their Healthy Defense line is MUCH better - creamier and lighter, rubs in all the way.

Comments about Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen , SPF 70, 3 fl oz:

My derm-doctor told me to get this.
I did and found it at least as effective as any other sun protection I had tried.
It appears to work with a little less product [and thus has a lower 'goop factor' than the competition.]
So, this is my brand of choice now.

Comments about Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen , SPF 70, 3 fl oz:

I buy lots of Neutrogena products and generally really like them, but this product is very disappointing. It's very tacky and doesn't absorb at all. It was so bad that I had to take a shower after I put it on because I was sticking to everything with which I came in contact. In the shower I had to scrub well with soap to get it off my skin. The smell is very overpowering and unpleasant. I cannot recommend this product to anyone. The up side is I wrote Neutrogena and complained and they did refund my money.

Comments about Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen , SPF 70, 3 fl oz:

I've had Rosacea and Lupus for years, so the problem I had with facial breakouts was intense at times. I tried many products, including prescription products, and was disappointed every time. I saw an article in a fashion/beauty magazine that recommended this product so I gave it a try. The results have been amazing! I rarely break out, and when I do the few red bumps I get are only half the size they were before and they go away within a few days. I believe I'm having these great results because the product does an excellent job of protecting my face and neck from the UV rays that are intense here in Florida. It also moisturizes extremely well. The one and only thing I have to be sure to do is not apply too much and give it ten or fifteen minutes to absorb before applying makeup.I also use a thin layer of it on my arms whenever I go outside. Excellent product!!

Comments about Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen , SPF 70, 3 fl oz:

Ultimately this product does a good job as a sunblock, but just isn't worth what I consider to be two major negatives.

First, it makes my face break out like crazy. Stopped using it for the face and switched to Neutrogena's Sport sunblock for Faces and am much more pleased.

Second, even after being rubbed in, I found this product to leave odd whitish-purplish stains on anything my treated skin touches. I've had to wipe these stains off of the interior and exterior of my car, my bike handlebars, purse handle, etc.

I developed an allergic reaction to this product within minutes of applying it. I noticed it right away around my eyes, but soon my whole face began to swell. I took an antihistamine as soon as I could, but by the next day the swelling had increased rather than abated. I went to see a dermatologist two days later. She gave me cortisone cream and told me to take antihistamines for an entire month! It's been four days, and I still elicit stares in public because of the swelling.

Over spring break I went skiing in Colorado. I knew to take sunscreen but i thought i wouldn't get any sun because i'd be covered up to whole time. The first day i used coppertone and got really pink. It was a combo of sunburn and windburn. My friend let me use this the next day and my complexion was back to normal! Love it
