I use the 70SPF for my face on a daily basis and use the 85SPF whenever I go scubadiving. I also cannot understand the other negative comments about these products. I have used other brands and have experienced stinging in my eyes, but with neutrogena, I have not experienced any. It is not sticky, blends well with my make up and I have not suffered any breakouts. Another reason why I chose these is because it does not have any parabens, although I cannot understand why the 55SPF has methyl, propyl and ethylparabens.

Ouch!

Ouch! This stung our faces something terrible swimming in the ocean. It also ran into my eyes while running and stung them terribly. I'll never put this on my face again.

I'm not 100% sure this actually offers any SPF protection at all. Either we sweated it off while sightseeing in the Caribbean, or it doesn't offer much sun protection. At SPF 70, you'd think you wouldn't burn, especially if you tend to tan... but we did anyway.

The product is also kind of difficult to apply, not because it sits on top of the skin, but it simply doesn't spread easily. You need to use twice as much sunblock as you normally would just to properly cover your skin. It also feels greasy when you enter the water, which makes me wonder if it's even getting absorbed into the skin.

We really preferred Banana Boat's Ultra Defense over this stuff, and at the price difference, we'll stick with that.

Comments about Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen , SPF 70, 3 fl oz:

This product among some of the other sunscreens out there have no reason to be on the shelves! If you want a really great sun lotion don't let the labels fool you- making you think that a SPF 80 sunscreen is much better and has way more protection as an SPF 50. They are exactly the same! If you buy this SPF 70 product your over doing it! I got 2 really bad burns this summer at the beach and in my son's back yard playing catch. We tried another sun lotion "Neutrogena Sunblock, Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch SPF 35 " and it was great.... no burns at all..... almost no repeats of application! And it was[$] cheaper! Good Luck shopping!

Comments about Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen , SPF 70, 3 fl oz:

I don't like greasy lotions or creams for my face and used to hate putting on sunscreen. But, now thanks to this stuff, I am happy to put on sunscreen every morning. I first wash my face, then use Neutrogena's anti-wrinkle retin-a product, moisturize my body while my face absorbs the retin-a, then I apply this sunscreen. I use Bare Ecscentals minerals for a foundation and have found that this makes for a nice base. My skin feels light all day and as if I have nothing on! I highly recommend this product.

I tried this in both the SPF 55 and SPF 70 formulas, and didn't find either one to be "sheer". Both require a ton of blending to get rid of the white streaks and little "crumbs", but they do blend eventually. It's not bad, but I think there are better, more sheer, and less expensive sunblocks available.

I try to apply sunscreen to my neck and arms everyday. This one wins big points for good protection, but it does leave minor white film that sometimes shows and sometimes flakes or rubs off. It is superb for sports protection, but not as perfect for the everyday application I had hoped.

I was too excited to see the higher SPF like other reviews had stated. I had purchased this product for a beach trip to Cancun hoping that the light weight condition will make it suitable for a hot climate. The first day, I put this on for a day on the beach. The sunscreen was sticky and did not have the ultra dry sheer touch it boasts. When I did take a dip in the ocean, the sunscreen ran into my eyes and was extremely painful. I flushed my eyes out with an eye wash but the damage was done. My eyes were swollen for the rest of trip. I would also mention that my face was extremely burned. I would not recommend this product for the face or those with sensitive skin, perhaps for your body.

I've been using this on the recommendation of my dermatologist, but I have to see whether I can find something else. I'm really fair, but this left white streaks all over--I look like a deranged clown. I put this on, get dressed, wipe the white streaks it leaves on my clothing off, and do a streak patrol. By the time I get to work, MORE white streaks have appeared. And on top of it all, it doesn't seem to work--my chest still burns in only 20 minutes. I know I'm white, but that should be impossible with 70 SPF.

I am frankly surprised that there are ANY negative comments from make-up wearers. I have melasma and pat on a generous amount of this WONDERFUL sunscreen several minutes before applying mineral foundation. My makeup goes on flawlessly. Maybe the people who have complained are not letting the sunblock fully absorb. I cannot stress enough the smooth, undetectable nature of this product. It feels clean going on and works great. A super price, too. I have recommended it to several people.

I am a devotee of the Neutrogena Dry Touch line, and have used it every summer since it came out to protect my extremely pale skin. When I saw that the sunblock came in SPF 70, I was excited to use such extreme protection! But for some reason, at this very high SPF (and on a very hot summer day), the lotion did not absorb properly as it usually does. It felt greasier than normal, and I was mortified to find out halfway through the day that it was leaving white residue on my black shorts. I looked like I'd sat in some flour. It was gross. Maybe I just got a bad bottle, because normally this stuff is AMAZING. Go for SPF 45 and you'll still be amazingly protected, but non-greasy and residue-free.

Neutrogena is typically awesome, so this product was especially dissapointing. This product is the exact opposite of everything it claims to be- it is neither sheer nor dry-touch. It made my skin extremely greasy and I even broke out minutes after applying it!!! It deserves zero stars. Avoid this if you care about your complexion.
