I usually take 2 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon to prevent depression and general achiness. I have an ACL graft and I'm an EMT with some hefty patients. I increase the dosage if I have extra stress. I don't know of any side effects. If you use this, keep up with it, I feel a missed dose.

I take it for the blood sugar and insulin metabolism. I take two everyday with my lunch and it has tamed my sugar monkey into almost non existence and helps me from over eating. I found this product after reading about the beneficial effects of Tulsi (holy basil) and looking for a product that contained it. I was looking for something to help with mild anxiety related to clinical depression, and I felt that a Rx anxiolytic was too strong for what I wanted.

I respect the high standards that New Chapter has for its products, and I was not disappointed. I take one softgel in the morning and one at lunch. The effect is calming without being sedative. Still, I notice an improvement in my sleep and my overall emotional state. I simply feel more balanced.

I ran out and stopped taking it for a while. I noticed a difference after about a week. I've been taking it again for two weeks and I feel much calmer.

I saw some medical articles on this herb and thought I would try it. I am half-way through my first bottle and have found that It does improve my mood and that maybe there is something to the increased insulin metabolism. I feel that I have more energy and possibly even sleep better. Now that my mood is better I have been exercising everyday. So, maybe that has something to do with it. Either way, I plan to purchase another bottle when this one runs out.

I had been in a pretty sad state for about 6 months dealing with placement of my parents into nursing homes. Exhausting and emotionally drained. I happened upon the New Chapter Holy Basil just last week, came home and took one as well as with their Breathe product. Wow! I felt better THAT NIGHT and realized it the next morning when I felt like a cloud had lifted! More energy, back to my old self, no more buckets of tears at the drop of a hat. I cannot say enough about this product!! Truly amazing.

I've been using New Chapter Holy Basil capsules for the past 3 years. I don't know how they work, all I can say is they do. When I take Holy Basil on a regular basis I have more energy (a LOT more energy) and feel altogether happier and more upbeat. It makes me feel like a different person - in a good way! My mom started using this supplement as well, and she said the same thing. She feels more energetic and more positive. I ran out and stopped taking it for awhile, and the difference was astounding. So I'm back to buy more, and this time I wont let myself run out.
