Work as well as stitches for the judgment call trips to the ER, while obviously avoiding the high cost of medical care. Used with Neosporin and Band-Aid "water block" to help keep recent rather nasty wound dry; even looks like I'll have only a faintly visible scar.

Have also used on cat's ear, to great result, after a little tiff with another tom. Vet later confirmed it was exactly what he would have done. Again, no big $$.

I have fragile skin that tears easily and these strips are a life saver.

cut my finger along my fingernail, was able to put skin back into place using 1 strip cut into 2 pieces and avoided going to the e.r.

First, I have not actually had to use these steristrips YET. I hope not to have to, and I am assuming that they will work well like ones I have used that were leftover from previous medical procedures. I have very active outdoorsmen-type boys who are prone to the occassional cuts and scrapes. I have used steristrips before, and I find that they are the best thing for closing up cuts that might otherwise need a stitch or two; for example, those caused by boys with an obsession for pocket knives. I know, I know, probably not a good idea for them to have, but hey, nothing wrong with a boy that is prepared for things in life that JUST might require a pocket knife or other sharp tool. They are so much better than the butterfly tapes that I had growing up. Keep them on hand (even in a vehicle to have with you all the time) just in case you need them. Can also be used to hold together a wound until you get to the hospital for stitches if required.

These are an excellent item. I just wish they also came in 1/2" wide.

My surgeon used 3M after my mole excision. He also gave me some extra strips. Wonderful strip tape that beats most other tapes (which are either too thick, too wide, or too flimsy, or not sticky enough, or irritate my skin).
