I purchased a LARGE quantity of this tape because I can no longer find it in the local store. I hope 3-M Company hasn't discontinued this product because it is superior to any other clear flexible tape I have used.

My husband padded a plantar wart that the doctor froze on the heel of his foot and used this tape to keep the padding in place. He liked it very much.

I mostly use this tape for holding in place kerlix guaze wraps.
At first glance, the unit price seem to be quite a bit higher and paper tape appears to be more economical. However paper tape will not stay in place over an area where muscles act, so in order to keep a dressing in place, one has to wrap all around the leg several times as paper tape doesn't stick well at all to skin, so one uses up many more inches of paper tape than when using Nexcare plastic tape, which is not immediately used up. The is equal in over cost.
Then there are the mechanical advantages of the plastic tape.
Nexcare iplastic tape is easily severed by tearing; with always a resulting straight and square ninety degrees separation. Also it does not "string" when hanging loose and as a result half the time paper tape sticks more to itself than to the skin when using a full limb wrap.
All in all, I'll never use paper tape again.
Did I mention plasic tape is waterproof?
