What is the NicoDerm® CQ® Patch and How is it Used? NicoDerm® CQ® is a small, nicotine-containing patch. When you put on a NicoDerm® CQ® patch, nicotine passes through the skin and into your body. NicoDerm® CQ® is very thin and uses special material to control how fast nicotine passes through the skin. Unlike the sudden jolts of nicotine delivered by cigarettes, the amount of nicotine you receive remains relatively smooth throughout the 24 or 16 hours period you wear the NicoDerm® CQ® patch. This helps to reduce the cravings you may have for nicotine.

I'm on Week 3... So far it is the only thing that has made me forget about wanting to smoke. I've tried acupuncture, gum, and cold turkey.
I had the urge to smoke once (after I had a few drinks), and I let myself have a drag... Awful! They taste gross now :o)
At first, I noticed that I was really jittery and hyper in the morning after I put on the patch, but that went away after a few days. Also be prepared to have little red squares where ever you choose to put it if you have sensitive skin. Well worth it!
After numerous attempts with cheaper brands, my 19 year old son finally quit smoking with this patch after 2 1/2 weeks. Amazing! The only con was at the beginning a little itchiness as placed, which was gone after about 5 minutes.
I tried the Nicorette gum first, and it helped somewhat, but I got tired of chewing all day. Nicoderm CQ is easy to use, just slap it on after the morning shower, and it lasts all day. At first, I did leave it on at night, but had some freaky dreams, so I now take it off before bed. I don't wake up wanting a cigarette, but after slapping on the patch, I realize that I did wake up wanting a cig, because after about 30 minutes, I feel much better! Make sure not to put the patch on the same area twice in a week, you may get a rash, or a lot of itching. All in all, a great product, and I am now 6 weeks with so cigarettes. The product may seem pricy, but if you calculate the cost of cigarettes these days, it is well worth the savings! Good luck!!!
I have tried other things to quit smoking but this is the only one that has worked. Once I put on the first patch, I don't ever think about wanting a cigarette. One con for me, was I had to get used to the patch because the first day it made me a little sick.
I am completely shocked at how much the patch has helped me quit smoking. I did not think that I could quit smoking. I tried other products without success. These patches definitely helped me. I completely recommend them.
