Chemical Name: NILUTAMIDE (nye-LOO-ta-mide)
Nilandron 150mg is an antiandrogen used to treat prostate cancer.
WARNING: Nilutamide may infrequently cause lung problems (interstitial pneumonitis), which rarely may be fatal. Seek immediate medical attention if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: trouble breathing, persistent cough, chest pain, fever. Laboratory and/or medical tests (e.g., chest X-ray, lung function) may be performed to monitor your progress. Some medicines or medical conditions may interact with Nilandron 150mg. INFORM YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. ADDITIONAL MONITORING OF YOUR DOSE OR CONDITION may be needed if you are taking phenytoin, theophylline, or warfarin. Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions or allergies. USE OF NILANDRON 150mg IS NOT RECOMMENDED if you have a history of liver or breathing conditions. Contact your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns about taking Nilandron 150mg.
Follow the directions for using Nilandron 150mg provided by your doctor. STORE NILANDRON 150mg at room temperature, away from heat and light. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF NILANDRON 150mg, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule.
NILANDRON 150mg MAY CAUSE CHANGES IN EYESIGHT, especially when moving from light to dark areas. Wearing sunglasses when you are in bright light may be helpful. Do not drive, operate machinery, or do anything else that could be dangerous until you know how you react to Nilandron 150mg. DO NOT DRINK ALCOHOL while you are using Nilandron 150mg. DO NOT STOP USING NILANDRON 150mg without first checking with your doctor. Keep all doctor and laboratory appointments while you are using Nilandron 150mg. BEFORE YOU HAVE ANY MEDICAL OR DENTAL TREATMENTS, EMERGENCY CARE, OR SURGERY, tell the doctor or dentist that you are using Nilandron 150mg.
SIDE EFFECTS, that may go away during treatment, include changes in eyesight, hot flashes, decreased sexual desire, nausea, vomiting, constipation, upset stomach, dizziness, headaches, or difficulty sleeping. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience difficulty breathing, stomach pain, or yellowing of the skin or eyes. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist. This is not a complete list of all side effects that may occur. If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, dizziness, and general discomfort.
DO NOT SHARE NILANDRON 150mg with others for whom it was not prescribed. DO NOT USE NILANDRON 150mg for other health conditions. KEEP NILANDRON 150mg out of the reach of children. IF USING NILANDRON 150mg FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME, obtain refills before your supply runs out.
