On a well-known website for dermatology from a famous...Read complete review I first bought this shampoo based off internet research and bulletin's and reading about various types of dandruff and acne issues on the back (bacne). On a well-known website for dermatology from a famous university there I saw pictures of acne on the back and neck that was treated in the traditional way for acne but unsuccessfully. It was later noted that this acne was not truly acne but rather a reaction to a specific type fungi/yeast that lives on the oil produced by the body. Of particular areas this thrives is the upper back and chest, and the triangle area directly above the cleft of the buttocks. Also on the scalp, wherever it is present the person has what seems to be deep, painful itchy zits. The people who had this type of fungi were all successfully treated with Ketoconazole. Ketoconazole is POWERFUL anti-fungal (belonging to the "azole" family). This shampoo is highly effective against this type of dandruff that may be untreatable with other types of dandruff shampoos. I bought this and the zits and bacne COMPLETELY WENT AWAY. The bad thing is, that I start to get acne almost immediately upon stopping its use. The good thing is, that this is the FIRST summer in years that I have been able to wear tank tops! Also, no more itchy bumps on my head and around my lower hairline. It also seemed to really make a difference with the acne I was getting on my face! I have been using it as a body wash for my back and upper chest as well as shampoo. This is how I got rid of my bacne and acne on my chest as well as the dandruff type symptoms on my head. I am thinking about using it as a face wash now too! BTW, you can get the 2% Ketoconozole shampoo from a dermatologist, but its usually not necessary. Try Nizoral first! Since it is anti-fungal, try using it for Tinea Versicolor, which is also a fungal based rash. (Results in patches of de-pigmented areas on the skin). Let the shampoo lather up and let it sit on your skin for 2 minutes before rinsing off. I can't stop using this stuff..I tried everything on my back, salycilic acid sprays, benzoil peroxide bars and creams. All I got from those were more zits or stained/bleached t-shirts. I am 34 years old, and I have no idea why I have these skin problems since I hit about age 30. I am attributing it to some sort of hormoneal imbalance. Ketoconazole also has anti-androgenic effects, and many body builders use it on their back and hair to prevent the thinning of hair and acne that results from their steroid abuse. I am 33 years old and have been slightly balding in the forehead, and as this has been happening my scalp has been itchy and causing a lot of flaking. This shampoo has been effecfive at reducing the itching and have made it a routine to use it as directed.

Cons Best Uses Comments about Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo, 7 fl oz: I tried every dandruff and itchy-scalp shampoo out there, even those nasty "tar" ones. They did not do a thing, except mayby make things worse. Then I read online where Ketoconazole (the active ingredient in Nizoral) was recommended by doctors in England for scalp irritation. I tried Nizoral and it worked! A word of advice, though, if you are taking omeprazole (Prilosec) or similar drugs, it may interact with the Nizoral. Check with your Doctor or Pharmacist. My experience with this was that the Nizoral didn't seem to work anymore when I started taking Prilosec, but when I am not on the Prilosec, it works fine.

I tried everything even scoured the internet for solutions...and when this product came on the market I tried it too, and so glad I did. It really works! It is like a breath mint for your scalp and the itchiness stopped. I only have to use it once or twice a month now. It is sometimes hard to find so I would recommend getting it here. Love this product! Service and delivery comments: Very prompt! Things that could possibly leak were shrink wrapped. Everything came at once and I will use Drugstore.com from now on!

Comments about Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo, 7 fl oz: I love this shampoo! I was having trouble with scalp buildup and went to see the doctor about it. She recommended this shampoo, and I've never had to worry about it again. My boyfriend uses it too now because it seems he's become immune to Selsun Blue, lol. The only issue that I've ever encountered is that it's so popular that it's never in stock. I only had to wait a week or so for drugstore.com to backorder it which was not too bad. Definitely recommend it!
