On a well-known website for dermatology from a famous university there I saw pictures of acne on the back and neck that was treated in the traditional way for acne but unsuccessfully. It was later noted that this acne was not truly acne but rather a reaction to a specific type fungi/yeast that lives on the oil produced by the body. Of particular areas this thrives is the upper back and chest, and the triangle area directly above the cleft of the buttocks. Also on the scalp, wherever it is present the person has what seems to be deep, painful itchy zits. The people who had this type of fungi were all successfully treated with Ketoconazole. Ketoconazole is POWERFUL anti-fungal (belonging to the "azole" family). This shampoo is highly effective against this type of dandruff that may be untreatable with other types of dandruff shampoos. I bought this and the zits and bacne COMPLETELY WENT AWAY. The bad thing is, that I start to get acne almost immediately upon stopping its use. The good thing is, that this is the FIRST summer in years that I have been able to wear tank tops! Also, no more itchy bumps on my head and around my lower hairline. It also seemed to really make a difference with the acne I was getting on my face! I have been using it as a body wash for my back and upper chest as well as shampoo. This is how I got rid of my bacne and acne on my chest as well as the dandruff type symptoms on my head. I am thinking about using it as a face wash now too! BTW, you can get the 2% Ketoconozole shampoo from a dermatologist, but its usually not necessary. Try Nizoral first! Since it is anti-fungal, try using it for Tinea Versicolor, which is also a fungal based rash. (Results in patches of de-pigmented areas on the skin). Let the shampoo lather up and let it sit on your skin for 2 minutes before rinsing off. I can't stop using this stuff..I tried everything on my back, salycilic acid sprays, benzoil peroxide bars and creams. All I got from those were more zits or stained/bleached t-shirts. I am 34 years old, and I have no idea why I have these skin problems since I hit about age 30. I am attributing it to some sort of hormoneal imbalance. Ketoconazole also has anti-androgenic effects, and many body builders use it on their back and hair to prevent the thinning of hair and acne that results from their steroid abuse. Cons Best Uses Comments about Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo, 7 fl oz: I tried this not for dandruff but because of its reputation for improving hair health and appearance. I have used it a few time so far and I really like it! The hair is clean and managable. and somehow it seems to give the hair a thicker appearance without being heavy on the hair as these other "thickeners" do. Can't comment on everyday or long term use at this point, but its a great product for me so far!

Comments about Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo, 7 fl oz: Have tried a lot of dandruff shampoos over the years and after a short while, it just came back and the shampoo was rendered useless. Have been using this stuff for a few years now and it is by far the best. Has helped reduce my hair loss by just reducing itching on my scalp. It's worth the price in my opinion.

Comments about Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo, 7 fl oz: I've had dry scalp for the past 22+ years. It's an embarrassing thing to always have to brush off my shoulders. I have exzema at the base of my skull which exacerbates the flaking and itching that I constantly feel. I read if you do not ever use shampoo or conditioner but massage your scalp for several minutes in the shower each day then that would reduce the flaking. I tried that for a few months and it helped quite a bit but didn't totally eliminate the flaking. The idea being that shampoos and conditioners get rid of the natural oils and emollients in your hair and scalp. I've only been using this product for 2 days and the flaking is gone. My scalp also used itch quite a bit as well. The itching isn't completely gone yet but that might be because I've only been using the product less than a week. The itching has been greatly reduced though. You don't have to use that much of it because it lathers up so well. This product lives up to it's billing. It's the only thing that's worked thus far on getting rid of my dry scalp. It's worth every penny!!!!

Comments about Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo, 7 fl oz: I despise it, but I have always had issues with thick, oily dandruff no matter how often I wash my hair. I have used Head and Shoulders, Pert Plus, T-Gel, every tea tree oil shampoo on the market (Paul Mitchell, L'Occitane, etc.) and more. Nizoral has worked the quickest and best out of all of them (one shampooing with Nizoral and I had no more itchy scalp and virtually no dandruff- a miracle). It is less drying than T-Gel, my other go-to shampoo, and smells better by far. Alternating this with T-Gel gives me the best of both worlds (I shampoo my hair daily) and keeps away the itching and dandruff. It is expensive, but worth it for solving such an embarassing problem.
