On a well-known website for dermatology from a famous university there I saw pictures of acne on the back and neck that was treated in the traditional way for acne but unsuccessfully. It was later noted that this acne was not truly acne but rather a reaction to a specific type fungi/yeast that lives on the oil produced by the body. Of particular areas this thrives is the upper back and chest, and the triangle area directly above the cleft of the buttocks. Also on the scalp, wherever it is present the person has what seems to be deep, painful itchy zits. The people who had this type of fungi were all successfully treated with Ketoconazole. Ketoconazole is POWERFUL anti-fungal (belonging to the "azole" family). This shampoo is highly effective against this type of dandruff that may be untreatable with other types of dandruff shampoos. I bought this and the zits and bacne COMPLETELY WENT AWAY. The bad thing is, that I start to get acne almost immediately upon stopping its use. The good thing is, that this is the FIRST summer in years that I have been able to wear tank tops! Also, no more itchy bumps on my head and around my lower hairline. It also seemed to really make a difference with the acne I was getting on my face! I have been using it as a body wash for my back and upper chest as well as shampoo. This is how I got rid of my bacne and acne on my chest as well as the dandruff type symptoms on my head. I am thinking about using it as a face wash now too! BTW, you can get the 2% Ketoconozole shampoo from a dermatologist, but its usually not necessary. Try Nizoral first! Since it is anti-fungal, try using it for Tinea Versicolor, which is also a fungal based rash. (Results in patches of de-pigmented areas on the skin). Let the shampoo lather up and let it sit on your skin for 2 minutes before rinsing off. I can't stop using this stuff..I tried everything on my back, salycilic acid sprays, benzoil peroxide bars and creams. All I got from those were more zits or stained/bleached t-shirts. I am 34 years old, and I have no idea why I have these skin problems since I hit about age 30. I am attributing it to some sort of hormoneal imbalance. Ketoconazole also has anti-androgenic effects, and many body builders use it on their back and hair to prevent the thinning of hair and acne that results from their steroid abuse. It's also a touch harsh on the scalp. The fragrance they use to cover the medicinal smell is pleasant, but my scalp is still flaky so I will not repurchase. Comments about Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo, 7 fl oz: I first learned of Nizoral when my Doctor prescribed it for sebhorric dermatitis. It works well in non-prescription strength for dandruff when used daily.

Comments about Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo, 7 fl oz: I use minoxidil which makes my scalp dry, itchy, and flaky. Nixoral seems to have greatly diminished the itchy, dry scalp problem.

Comments about Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo, 7 fl oz: Unlike Selsun or Head & Shoulders, this stuff is medicine! You're not even suppoed to use it every day, and you don't have to in order to control dandruff. The stuff really works, so it's worth the extra money.

Best Uses Comments about Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo, 7 fl oz: I suffered from irritated scalp and minor flakes for some years. I didn't want to admit I had DANDRUFF at first, and I had tried more conventional products like head & shoulders and some natural products (with tea tree oil, aha, etc), but the problem seemed to be getting worse.

Comments about Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo, 7 fl oz: I tend to have a severe issue with itchy dry scalp int he winter time. It's partly because I have eczema. I finally tried this product because shampoos like Head and Shoulders just don't work for me. The shampoo is very drying to my natural African American hair and scalp so, I made sure to use a good moisturizer afterward. It took a week for me to see any results. I also use a ointment with salicylic acid and tar on my scalp and I think the combination of the shampoo and ointment is what makes my scalp itch free.

Comments about Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo, 7 fl oz: Husbands says it's the only product that works. When we first started dating, I didn't even know he had a dandruff problem until he ran out of it one day and we both went to the store to buy it together.

Cons Best Uses Comments about Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo, 7 fl oz: This is the first product that has ever worked to stop my dandruff problems. At first I was really skeptic because every brand claims to work. I've tried lots of shampoos and conditioners and special dandruff brands without success. I heard about Nizoral A-D and it worked instantly. I lather it on and repeat and thats it. It doesn't burn and smells really good. It's a little pricey for a shampoo, but it's definitely worth the cost. I LOVE IT !!!!
Pros
Cons Best Uses Comments about Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo, 7 fl oz: At the beginning of this year (2008) I began noticing horrible flaking and itching, mostly at the front of my scalp, above my forehead. I tried so many different things from more expensive named shampoos to apple cider vinegar and olive oil. It took about a week to notice a difference, and after two weeks, the fakes are almost cmpletely gone. I will definitely be getting more of this!
