I have fair skin that requires high SPF during the summer in Cape Cod, MA or on vacation in the Caribbean & this is my top choice for sunblock. It's thick & takes some effort to rub it all in, but I think that's a sign of a quality, water resistant sunblock, so I've learned to deal. I initially apply two layers (yep, I'm pretty Type A a/b preventing sunburn!) before heading out in the sun, then reapply after any extensive swimming or sweating; this allows me to develop a gradual tan w/o burning. The formula is definitely on the more moisturizing side which some may find greasy. (My husband doesn't like the thick formula & refuses to wear it.)
