Sure you pay twice as much but you get three times the Omega acids than any other product on the market. I had my lipids tested five months ago and was shocked to find out my total was 305. Having been a professional triathlete before, ok it was nearly 10 years ago, I thought I was still in pretty good shape. I still ride, bike, and swim weekly and hike and mountain climb fairly regularly. I follow decent nutritional guidelines. My doctor was worried about my lipid level and gave me a month to show a rapid decrease or he was going to proscibe medication to reduce my LDL and triglyceride levels. The next day I stopped by[...] and on the recommendation of the women working there bought a bottle of the Ultimate Omega capsules. 29 days later with out changing my nutritional intake very much I retested with combined level of 241. I have my levels now down to 197 after 5 months of taking this product and not changing much else in my life. I can't attribute the change to anything else. Plus no fishy aftertaste. Side effects occurred all three times I took with supplement including with meals, on an empty stomach and 30 mins after my meal. And no change in diet, pretty much on a heathly diet already. I hope the downward trend continues. Although there can be a yucky aftertaste, I find that if I take it at night, by the time I wake up in the morning, I don't ever taste them. I don't know how effective they are but they make me feel good--and my child is super-smart...from the pills? who knows. Or maybe I am just a proud mom, but either way, I plan on taking them again for my next pregnancy. My wife (a health journalist) recommended Nordic Naturals, and I've been very pleased by this product. I normally don't tolerate fish oil well, but I've had no problems at all with this product. The omega fatty acids have been shown to support brain as well as heart health, as they are required to build and maintain the myelin sheaths around nerve cells.
