I was kind of afraid to cut my 3 year old sons hair, but the DVD showed me exactly what to do and his haircut came out wonderfully! I know this will definitely benefit us and save the $10 trips to the barber!
The short guard broke within seconds of use. The clipper itself was as noisy as any other Norelco adult clipper (which I've owned). This product was a gimmick to get parents to buy a product that should have help lull the hair cut fears of little kids but doesn't. The clipper noise frightened my son and the guards didn't pick up his fine hair towards the blades. I ended up using scissors to get the job done. This Philips Norelco Kid's Clipper was a huge disappointment.
I think the best features of this product are: * the nice white and blue color (not an intimidating black or silver like most we've had.). * Nice small size so it is easy to handle * Can be used cordlless. I took it out of the box when I got it and used it cordless without charging first and it lasted over 20 min. I was impressed.
I do feel it is a bit loud still, but not sure anyone could make a silent clipper. : ) The hair guides to feel a bit flimly however I haven't had anything break on them yet.
A side note, I was surprised to see all the extras that came with this clipper. I didn't even know it came with a comb, scissors and carry bag.
Probably the 6th hairclipper I've purchased for my 51/2 year old grandson. He is not a fussy kid, but the other clippers either hurt, cut poorly, broke down, or were noisy. His hair is thick but white blonde so if buzz cut, he looks bald. He needs just a little length, with trimming around the edges and ears. Finally...a great product according to my son-in-law, in all ways.
These clippers are awesome! The wide range of lengths with the guide comb make for flawless haircuts. I have a 21-month old moving target to chase down and his hair still looks GREAT!
Easy to use, very quiet. DVD was very helpful especially if you have never cut hair before. My 2 year old didn't like to wear the cape, otherwise we had no problems during our 10 minute haircut session. Easy to clean, product pays for itself after 2-3 uses.
