Conveniently store food scraps in this odor-eliminating container before transferring them to an outside composter. The unit works great for egg shells, peelings, coffee grounds, and more, while its stainless-steel handle ensures simple transport.
In addition, the unit's tight-fitting lid holds a charcoal filter for odor-free use for up to six months, plus offers a center knob for easy lid removal. The container fits under the sink, but with its durable stainless-steel construction and beautiful satin finish, it's attractive enough to leave out on the countertop. The surface cleans quickly with a soapy sponge.

I bought this item to replace a beautiful ceramic one that looked great on the counter. Unfortunately, it was only a matter of time before we broke it. This one is not quite as pretty, but it has larger capacity without looking a lot larger, and very sturdy. With any countertop composter, you should really take it out once a week. On the plus side, your kitchen waste should be greatly reduced. Ours was. The one tiny drawback is that the lid is difficult to drip dry. It has lots of inner pockets and contours to hold water. So it's never dry the morning after washing.
My husband actually got this after seeing our neighbors compost can. I like the overall design & look of it and it seems to prevent odors. The things that I don't like about it is that it definitely attracts fruit flies (and we've had a pretty cold summer here) and it seems to "sweat" quite a bit on the inside. However, I'm missing the bottom charcoal filter so that might be the culprit. I don't wash it much mainly b/c it's in constant use, but it has what appears to be rust spots on the inside, and within the inside lid and lid rim. It just doesn't look very pretty if you look closely at it. ;0) But overall a total winner.
The capacity of this keeper is even greater than I thought, which is helpful. I have not had any problems yet with odor or flies (though, I have only used it in a cooler time of the year). I actually end up dumping it less than I thought I would have to because of the size and low-odor. It is very easy to clean and looks nice enough on the counter (though it is slightly suggestive of Oscar the Grouch). I feel like the shininess of it is actually positive in helping remind my boyfriend that it is there and to use it.
I bought this to replace the broken ceramic kitchen compost keeper , found out this one is a lot more sturdy and keep odor free better , should have bought this one in the beginning of getting compost keeper
