Indications
For the temporary relief of nasal congestion due to the common cold, hay fever, or other upper respiratory allergies (allergic rhinitis), or associated with sinusitis. Shrinks swollen membranes so you can breathe more freely.

Warnings
When using this product: Do not exceed recommended dosage. Do not use if printed seal over cap is broken or missing.
This product may cause temporary discomfort such as burning, stinging, sneezing, or an increase in nasal discharge. Do not use this product for more than 3 days. Frequent or prolonged use may cause nasal congestion to recur or worsen. Use only as directed. If symptoms persist, consult a doctor. The use of this container by more than one person may spread infection.
Stop use and ask a doctor if symptoms persist.
Do not use this product if you have heart disease, high blood pressure, thyroid disease, diabetes or difficulty in urination due to enlargement of the prostate gland. If pregnant or breast-feeding, ask a health professional before use. Keep this and all drugs out of the reach of children. In case of accidental ingestion, seek professional assistance or contact a Poison Control Center immediately.

I personally had a very very bad cold and would be forced to use the nose spray a lot and my body got addicted so my nose will be really congested for a few days in which i can't use any nose spray and it's really uncomfortable. Just beware.

As four stars indicates, this nasal spray is "close to perfect" since you can only use it for three days and then you need to lay off it for a day or two. Your body will become addicted to it if you don't.
HOWEVER I use this with every cold I have that has sinus symptoms. Two sprays in each nose and I can breathe without problem and taste my food, which is more than I can hope for during a cold season. The effect is almost instant (less than five minutes) and it really lasts 12 hours. You might have some stinging when you first take it but it only lasts a few seconds for me, and there might be some sensitivity to cold dry air, but that's better than having to take an oral decongestant (they make me downright loopy).
Definitely try it, especially if you're in a jam and need to not breathe with your mouth open for a day :-)

i have used both this & the Mucinex Spray. Both work well at helping to reduce my postnasal drip which is a BIG problem at night. My allergist warned me that this has the same ingredient as Afrin. Afrin has been around for a long time. I used it in the pastbwith success the first night and then it caused me to become so congested I couldn't breath through my nose even the littlest bit. I haven't had that reaction with this or the Mucinex spray even after using it many nights & mornings in a row, so I would recommend this nasal spray.

I have used all of the available Afrin products and my nose always burns, cracks and bleeds after wards. This product has none of those issues. It never burns if used correctly, the sprayer does not get clogged and it always delivers a consistent spray. WARNING - make sure you use this product. The moisturizing version with menthol and spearmint is horrible. I am surprised the same company makes it. Stick with the purple box.

I gave up finding this. With all the changes that were implemented, the drug stores in our area stopped carrying this. I thought it was discontied. I put it in the serch at drugstore.com on an off chance that I would find it. I am glad I did. I had to use it two days after my package arrived.

My husband has a deviated septum and chronic sinusitis, so he can't breath most of the time. This is the only spray that helps him to breath. He says it works right away and lasts the longest of any other brand he's tried.
Adults and children 6 to under 12 years of age (with adult supervision): 2 or 3 sprays in each nostril not more often than every 10 to 12 hours. Do not exceed 2 applications in any 24-hour period. Children under 6 years of age: consult a doctor.
To use metered pump spray: Remove protective cap and prime pump by depressing it firmly several times. Hold bottle with thumb at base and nozzle between first and second fingers. With head, upright, insert nozzle into nostril. Depress pump two or three times, all the way down, and sniff deeply.
Store between 15°-30°C (59°-86°F). Avoid excessive heat or freezing.
