I bought this brand because it was on sale, but I got what I paid for. I normally take Jarrow Formulas 50 mg 5-HTP as a gentle sleep aid, and find it quite effective. My partner takes it daily for his mood, while I take it on an as-needed basis for my brief bouts of insomnia. The NOW Foods 5-HTP had no effect whatsoever. I recommend Jarrow highly and this product not at all.
