Butterbur (Petasites hybridus) is a native shrub of Europe, North America, and Asia that has been used by the herbalists for centuries. Modern scientific studies have demonstrated that Butterbur supports healthy blood flow to the brain and healthy neurological function. Petasins, the active constituents in Butterbur, have been shown to play a role in minimizing the frequency and severity of neurological discomfort triggered by bright lights and stress that occasionally occurs in healthy individuals.
In addition, Butterbur may help to maintain balanced seasonal immune responses. NOW® Butterbur is free of harmful levels of Pyrrolizidine Alkaloids (PA's), so it is safe to use regularly.*
Comments about NOW Foods Butterbur with Feverfew, Vegetarian Capsules, 60 ea:
I've been taking this for about 6 months and have noticed a decrease in the non-menstrual migraines. I take it 2-3 times a day and have found that this formulation which ALSO contains feverfew is more effective than the plain butterbur that I had been using. Also, I just read an article yesterday of a clinical trial in London that showed that butterbur might be very effective for seasonal rhinitis/allergies. It has helped with mine this year! I just thought it was a result of fewer migraines and the whole "feel better" with no migraine syndrome, didn't even think it may have helped with the allergies.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
