The first reviewer is correct, all L-Lysine 1000mg mfg have the same size pill, really large. But it's 1000mg in one pill. I have a hard time swallowing pills so I like the fact I can get one pill in 1000mg form instead of taking two 500 mg pills. I have to take 1000mg per day to prevent fever blisters, anything less and I'll get a fever blister. I either chew the pill with coffee to mask the taste or crush it and put in yogurt. But again, that is not related to this mfg, just the fact all 1000mg L-Lysine pills are big. If they can figure out a way to make it small and easy to swallow, they need to patent it :)

I've used the 500 mg in the past and it's a lot easier to swallow. I think the manufacturer needs to go to gel caps when bumping up the product to 1000 mg. They have to consider that the human throat and esophagus has trouble sending through such a massive pill. The effectiveness is the best, but PLEASE .... make them a little easier to swallow!!
