Comments about NOW Foods Sunflower Lecithin Soy-Free Non-GMO, 1200mg, Softgels, 100 ea:

I usually use Now's soy lecithin softgels, but couldn't find them on the website and decided to try these. I trust the NOW brand for a lot of my supplements because I used to order their products for the health food store I used to work at, and I got to know NOW pretty well over the years. These Sunflower Lecithin softgels are a little bigger, but still easy to swallow. I've been taking lecithin for about 16 years for dental nerve pain, which bothers me if I stop for a week or so. I've been using this new lecithin over a week now and still feel fine, so I think this works just as well as the soy lecithin.

I started taking lecithin for my high blood pressure and my insomnia. After a month, my average blood pressure top number has dropped ten points, the lower number is better than ever, and I'm not seeing the spikes I used to see. Also, I'm sleeping more restfully at night. I first started with a soy product, but it seemed to give me hormonal headaches. With this product, I've noticed no side effects. Added bonus is that the capsules are thin and slippery, very easy to swallow.

Comments about NOW Foods Sunflower Lecithin Soy-Free Non-GMO, 1200mg, Softgels, 100 ea:

Normally I take raw liquid sunflower lecithin from Blue Mountain Organics. I prefer to take the raw unprocessed version because, well, it's raw and unprocessed. But it needs to be refrigerated after opening so I can't take it when I travel. I keep the NOW Softgels on hand for trips. I suspect the Softgels might be somewhat less beneficial than the raw, unprocessed version (though I have no data on this), but on the plus side, it doesn't have the unpleasant taste and hard-to-swallow consistency of the liquid version! I've read that lecithin emulsifies and removes bad fats that the body doesn't know what to do with. I can't cite any scientific evidence for that, but I can say that after I started taking it (2 Tablespoons a day - one in the morning and one at night) I lost approximately 10 pounds over 3-4 months. I was already at a pretty good weight - the main reason I started taking it was not to lose weight but because it was supposed to help with mental clarity. But I must say I'm very happy with my slightly smaller self!

              Aloha,
I take this lecithin if I eat over 18-20 grams of fat, because I had my gall bladder removed. I used to take soy lecithin, but I discovered the soy lecithin caused lots of problems in my ovaries and uterus (and some acne). I realized that my age and hormone levels don't allow for that much soy per day. This Sunflower lecithin is actually good for skin too.

I'm trying to use all supplements that do not have soy in them. Sometimes in a smaller town that can be hard to find. This soy-free sunflower lecithin is just the ticket. I'm so glad I found Drugstore.com.

I choose this product for the simple reason dont have Soy. I do my research and the Soy... is... a tricky product. There is a lot info about Soy so is kinda complicate to decide use it or not. But, for personal reasons i decide not use soy because the soy, at the end make your heart tissues become hard, non elastic, and a lot more. But this isnt the place to talk about that. I strongly recommend this product :D

I started taking soy lecithen along with buthers broom extract & ginger root extract to get control of tinnitus, I took it for about 6 mos. before I got relief, I wanted to reduce soy in my diet, so I stopped taking the lecithen and tinnitus came back, so I ordered this one made with sunflower oil and it works great, no tinnitus, no side effects, i.e., strange dreams.

                         –  Help boost the function of digestion, the nervous system and the liver with one dietary supplement. Providing a vegetable source of lecithin, NOW Foods Sunflower Lecithin Soy-Free Non-GMO softgels help you begin a series of special biological processes that can help strengthen and support bodily functions. Easily absorbed and quickly processed, lecithin helps your body process lipids (fatty acids) by assisting in breaking them down – similar to a detergent – so they can be digested. Only two or three softgels a day provides the suggested level of lecithin that helps the body produce a family of lipids, including phosphatidyicholine (PC), which is the most abundant lipid in the cell membrane system. This means that PC plays a key role in cellular signaling and the function of the synaptic – the nervous – system. Studies have also indicated that higher levels of PC have shown promise in improving the gastrointestinal tract and the function of the liver.
