Cons Best Uses Comments about Nutri-Vet Feline Hairball Paw Gel, Salmon, 3 oz: My cats (3) love this gel. I have tried multiple kinds but this one is the ONLY one they will take. I have tried the chicken flavor and they snub their noses at it. Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Was this review helpful? Comments about Nutri-Vet Feline Hairball Paw Gel, Salmon, 3 oz: This is the best hairball "remedy" I have ever used in 35 year of having a cat. Warnings about the dangers of giving a cat the petroleum jelly in previous incarnations of hairball remedies have been around for many years now, but no one seemed to listen and companies still make and sell them. Seriously, would you give ANYONE a spoonful of petroleum jelly to EAT? Yes, that icky, sticky stuff your grandmother probably used as hand cream and for any number of things as it was very popular in the 1950's. NOT something anyone should ingest, but we've been giving tuna flavored versions to our cats for years! Finally, someone has heeded the warnings and come up with something new. Not really a gel, but more of a mousse-like cream, Nutrivet's Hairball Paw-Gel is full of essential oils and other ingredients to gently break up hairballs before they happen. My cats lick it right from the tube and if some happens to fall on fabric or elsewhere, it does not leave an oily stain as the old kind did and can easily be plucked right off - assuming your cat doesn't lick it up immediately. Try both flavors! My cats beg for it instead of running away like they did before!

Comments about Nutri-Vet Feline Hairball Paw Gel, Salmon, 3 oz: We give this to our 2 cats (one being a hairball barf-bag) every night and never forget...they won't let us forget. We refer to this product as Kitty Krack. They love this more than ANYTHING we've ever given them including treats. The best thing for me is that it really works and without petroleum. I have had a couple of tubes that had defective seals in the crimped end so I just squirted the contents into a travel tube/bottle rather than wasting it and getting it all over me.

Cons
Best Uses Comments about Nutri-Vet Feline Hairball Paw Gel, Salmon, 3 oz: This is the best hairball remedy I have ever found in more than 40 years of having cats. MOST IMPORTANTLY, it is NOT made of harmful petroleum products as are all other brands, which have been shown to be quite harmful to your cat. This products supplies necessary Omega 3 oils, vitamins and, apparently, tastes great. My vet was very happy to learn of a safe and healthy alternative to the petroleum jelly varieties widely available. Another great thing about this product is the consistency. It isn't really a gel at all, in spite of the name, but a compact sort of cream. If it falls onto the bed or upholstery, the cat can lick it up with one swipe of the tongue without any residue remaining. And if left on a paw or other surface it does not harden into a frightening looking life form from another universe! I used to find cast off bits of the other stuff on the wall or floor days or weeks later and they were hard as a rock and impossible to remove. Paw Gel removes easily from paws or other surfaces, but is unlikely to be left anywhere! My cats HATED the old fashioned kind of furball remedies. A previous cat of mine would leave it on her paw for days rather than lick it off! Nutri-vet's 21'st century version never lasts more than seconds! Mostly they just eat if from the tube. The good oils and many vitamins make it a healthy choice to combat potentially harmful furballs. My cats and I highly recommend this innovative product, which I have also passed along to my vet for her own pets!

Best Uses Comments about Nutri-Vet Feline Hairball Paw Gel, Salmon, 3 oz: I had high hopes but only 1 of out my 3 cats will go near this stuff. In the products defense, my cats are a little finicky. Also the first time I squeezed it, the tube busted a hole out of the back of the tube instead of coming out the front. Won't purchase again... :(

Problem: this last order seems to be out of date. The gel is supposed to be soft like a mousse, this last order is so solidified it is difficult to squeeze out of the tube & it has a different odor from previously purchased product. I will not order any more from drugstore, I will look for a different source or product.
