I didn't pay too much attention to the negative reviews, because my cat's all time favorite flavor is chicken liver -- in fact, I was happy to see a hairball product with this flavor.

MY CAT WILL NOT GET WITHIN 2 INCHES OF THIS STUFF. BUYER BEWARE. WHAT WITH ALL OF THE NEGATIVE COMMENTS, I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THIS PRODUCT IS STILL BEING SOLD HERE. TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY.

My cat will take this right out of the tube, whereas he rejects any other brand, and the other cat, who doesn't need it, regards it as a treat.

All four of my cats absolutely adore NutriVet Paw Gel in the "Salmon" flavor. Thiey will not touch Paw Gel in the "Chicken Liver" flavor. I contacted NutriVet and received a reply that the "Salmon" flavor was back in production, but until Drugstore.com re-stocks the "Salmon" flavor, I will not be re-ordering.

I buy 4 or 5 tubes at a time. Last order, one of the tubes was bad. Not sure if I shoud spend the money to send it back or not. My cats love this stuff. Its their treat, and no more hair balls !

This is a great company and the salmon we had before is a 5-star product. The liver version needs a revamp. The premise is simple: spread on finger or spoon, cat licks off. This product falters on both counts. The salmon was creamy but this is very stiff so it's hard to even get out of the tube. Once it's out it's spreadable but still pretty stiff. The flavor is a distant second to the salmon. We have 8 cats, all of whom were so eager for the salmon they would climb over each other to get to me when it came out of the drawer- before it was even opened. With the liver 1 will not touch it at all, 3 find it unappealing but will lick it off the paw (with much tongue flicking & such), and 4 will eat it fine but are nowhere near as keen as they were before. I appreciate the price but we won't be buying any more until we get the salmon version back!

If there was a 'no stars' option, this would rate that!Tried it on 4 different cats: they ALL rejected it. Put it on a paw, they wouldn't even lick it off.Tried it on 3 different dogs (who are not picky eaters) they all turned their heads away.[...] A waste of money.

Although not the salmon flavor my cats licked right out of the tube, this liver flavor is tolerable. I have a 2-year old Tuxedo short hair cat who eats cat hair (literally). This is my "throw-up" cat.
She gets into the trash can after a brushing session and eats the hair. She also eats the hair on the cat condos. She throws up when a hairball is stuck or bothering her. So, this Paw Gel is a blessing for me. She eats it off my finger and meows every morning until she gets her "treat." I also give it to her 3 more times during the day. She has not thrown up in 2 days since this routine.
What she does not lick she gets it smeared on her coat somewhere (rub it in because when they try to shake it off, liver goop flys all over the place). This morning I found her licking the liver goop off the floor where it flew when she shook.
Just ordered 10 (yep, ten) tubes as my now non-throw-up cat eats about a tube per week. Keeps her regular and has no side effects being "gooped" 3 times daily.
Sure do wish the salmon flavor was available. This is the best place to get this wonderful stuff and at this price? Why not buy in bulk as I have.

This is much easier to use than other products I have tried, more of a gel than a globby mess. Best of all my cats are begging for it every morning! I have noticed that their coats have gotten shinier.

I have been buying this product in the Salmon flavor for quite a while. My cat goes crazy over it. Recently the company changed to chicken liver and my cat hates it. She wont come near it. Good news though. I wrote a letter to coporate and they informed me that they WILL be producing the Salmon flavor again in a few weeks.

I have two long haired cats. It works beautifully. Much less stress.
I put on my finger and cat licks it off.
This is first hairball product positively received by either of them.
When cat shakes it does not make a mess.
The salmon taste is accepted
The liver taste is not.
I received 5 tubes not realizing I needed to choose a flavor. Need to return 4 of the tubes. I hope you have salmon.
