Comments about Off! Citronella Bucket Candle, 18 oz:
This candle does work if you're sitting right next to it. I have one on my porch table on the right of my chair (about one foot away) and although mosquitoes won't bite me on my right side, they will bite me on my left side, which could be solved with a second candle. It certainly doesn't protect the area it is advertised to protect.
One thing to note about this candle, and all candles really, the first time you burn it you have to let it burn for at least 30 minutes, but an hour is even better, because the size of the pool melted on the first burn will be the size of the pool for the rest of the life of the candle. So if you only achieve a half dollar sized pool on the first burn, you will waste the amount of wax left outside of that pool for the life of the candle. I hope this makes sense and helps you to create the maximum amount of citronella melting each time you lite it. After the first burn, it doesn't matter how long you keep it lit.
