Moving to New Orleans from San Francisco had many adjustments, and a big one was dealing with mosquitos. As a kid in Chicago I remember OFF! being very smelly, kinda sticky, and overall unpleasant, and that was from a child who could care less about such things. I dreaded using it again. But this product is just awesome. It is dry, smells quite pleasant (orange-y), and seems to work well.

OK -- this is the only product for me. It doesn't leave an oily feeling as my skin is dry to the touch. I will apply it once and it works all day for me -- and I'm prone to mosquito bites! I do strongly advise that you apply it in a well-ventilated area as the fumes can become overwhelming. I usually go outside to put it on. I do recommend spraying areas that are not exposed (ie: stomach) as I've been bitten in places I haven't sprayed. Also, one should shower to remove repellant. And one final thing: it irreversably will dull your toenail polish color. Place your toes under a mat while spraying your feet to avoid dulling the shine of your polish.

This spray really does go on dry and doesn't leave my skin feeling oily the way regular Off! aerosol does. It also seems to have slightly less fragrance or at least I don't notice the fragrance lingering on my skin for as long. It does seem to be every bit as effective at the regular Off! spray, however.

Strangely, I have found that I love the way this product smells and you can't even tell that it is on. It does leave a powdery residue so apply outside if possible.

I really enjoy this product because I despise the feeling of typical bug repellants. The smells is strong, but not nearly as bad as the horrible pine scent of standard DEET sprays.
This spray is effective against mosquitos while I walk in the evenings. I use this spray on my skin when in the neighborhood as well as in the woods. However, when one is going into the woods where more aggressive pests reside (ticks, etc) it is recommended that you spray your clothing as well. This spray, because of it's smooth formula, will leave a white residue on your clothes that washes off in the laundry. If you are going into the woods I suggest spraying this product on yourself for comfort and regular OFF on your clothes to deter pests from clinging and working their way underneath.
Please be cautioned that DEET is an effective treatment against pests and the risks are real. My young son contracted Lyme Disease during a summer vacation when I was lazy about applying DEET and now suffers great neurological damage.

I tried this thinking my search for the perfect insect repellent was over. It was not to be. It didn't work because I still got bit AND it gave me a rash all over. I'm possibly allergic to DEET.

I was optimistic about this product leaving a dry finish but I absolutely hate it! The overpowering fruity-floral-perfumey scent permeates the whole room and makes me choke in a fine mist-cloud of deet repellent. Not a comforting experience. I feel like I'm spraying the air rather than my body. I can't breathe around this stuff and have wasted my money in buying it. What a shame. I'm disappointed.

I live in an area where mosquitoes are pretty bad, and most products that claim to have a "pleasant smell" or a "clean feel" simply don't cut it. Usually I use Off Deep Woods, but I decided to give this a try. It goes on dry and has a fresh smell, but it still actually works. I was very impressed.
It is a violation of Federal law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling. Read and follow all directions and precautions on this product label. Shake well before using.Hold container 6 to 8 inches from skin or clothing and spray with a slow sweeping motion. Do not apply over cuts, wounds, irritated or sunburned skin. Do not spray in enclosed areas. Use just enough repellent to cover exposed skin and clothing. Avoid over-application of this product. Frequent reapplication and saturation are unnecessary. Do not allow children to handle this product. After returning indoors, wash treated skin with soap and water. For Maximum Protection, spread evenly with hands to moisten all exposed skin. To apply to face: Spray palm of hand first and then apply sparingly and avoid eyes. Do not spray directly onto face. Do not apply near eyes or mouth. Apply sparingly around ears. Do not apply to children's hands. When using on children, apply to your own hands and then put it on the child. Work On Clothing Too: Do not use under clothing. Spray shirts, pants, socks, and hats. For ticks and chiggers also spray cuffs, socks, and around other openings in outer clothing. Will not damage cotton, wool, or nylon. Do not apply on or near: acetate, rayon, spandex, or other synthetics (other than nylon), furniture, plastics, watch crystals, leather and painted or varnished surfaces including automobiles.
Storage: Store away from heat or flame in an area inaccessible to children. Disposal: Do not puncture or incinerate! If empty: This container may be recycled in the few but growing number of communities where aerosol can recycling is available. Before offering for recycling, empty the container by using the product according to the label. If recycling is not available, place in trash. If partially filled: Call you local solid waste agency or 800-539-3394 for disposal instructions.
