I hate the tape and pinch method and it is difficult to do by ones self. If you continuously try getting one reading right after another there is going to be some variance; up to a 1 or so. I found that if you use this regularly though and you use it at around the same time everyday that I get the same or close to the same everyday. Now that I have figured that out I use it about once a week and have notice the # going down slowly but surely. :)

I've had this for about two weeks now, wanted something to supplement my scales that measure weight and body fat that would be a little more accurate and fast and easy to use. Based on the reviews I read, this seemed like it would be a good buy. Well, it's fast and easy, but that doesn't mean anything if it's not accurate or at least consistent. I've had the measurement vary by as much as two percentage points with a minute or two between readings. I've checked the instructions to make sure I'm using it correctly, and I am. Big disappointment considering that it's made by Omron.

This Omron product is easy to use and is very consistent if you use it properly (under similar conditions each time). It gives both body fat and BMI although I'm not too interested in BMI. I like it a lot.

During my recent intense diet I used this item each morning to see where my fat content stood. I shed 30 pounds in 30 days and could readily see my body fact percentage drop. This was encouraging since on this diet I wanted to maintain my muscle mass.

I discovered I have lean body mass of 112 lbs! It's very high (I am only 5'4.5''). That means to have a VERY healthy and lean 23-25% of body fat I need to weight 145-148 lbs. Puts your weight in a whole new perspective. It's not that you should never weigh yourself, but you need to combine it with using this monitor. Otherwise, it doesn't make much sense.
