I find the easiest to use and least painless lancet device is the MultiClix by accu-check (totally worth the [$]). And because I use a different lancet device, it doesn't fit into the case well, which makes me dislike the case. The one touch meters are extremely accurate, (I have personally tested my meters against lab draws, and they perfectly matched), avilable in many different types to suit your needs, and colors. The mini is very affordable if you are on a budget. One last down side to the meter is that it only holds 150 test results, which is about 2 weeks worth when testing several times a day. An easy fix is getting the computer software and downloading the meter every few days. You also get the averages with the software. Comments about OneTouch UltraMini Glucose Monitoring System, Purple, 1 ea: I have no idea how well this product works because, some of us, being new to glucose monitors, don't know that THE STRIPS DON'T COME WITH THE KIT!! So I have brand new monitor...and not even one strip to test it out with. They could have put in big letters that that vital accessory must be purchased as well and wasn't with the pack. Like, when you're purchasing, have pop-up "Need strips? Order here!" or something...oh well. Pros

Comments about OneTouch UltraMini Glucose Monitoring System, Purple, 1 ea: I have had my original meter for 7 years now, I wanted to have a new one for back up and travel. This meter is perfect for every day use and travel. I do still use my old lancet system since the new one is very flimsy. Pros

Best Uses Comments about OneTouch UltraMini Glucose Monitoring System, Purple, 1 ea: I got this meter after my old Freestyle meter was discontinued. I chose it initially as it promised to be relatively painless and require only a tiny amount of blood. My old meter advertised both of these features as well, and like this meter, it let you take blood from your forearms and palms (I would have kept it, as I never had any problems with it). However, after following all the instructions, 5 test strips and lancets later I still have yet to get a reading on the UltraMini. I now have numerous tiny, itchy holes in my fingers and palms where the ineffective lancing device failed to get a decent sample. Not only that, but after turning the lancing device up to 5(!), I was still unable to get a sample large enough to fill the test strip, yet by this point it hurt quite a bit, and I have never had this problem before, and I don't plan on turning it all the way up to 7 just to get a sample from my finger. I am really unimpressed by this device, and I plan on returning it. Pros

Comments about OneTouch UltraMini Glucose Monitoring System, Purple, 1 ea: The unit itself is simple and easy to use. What disappointed me is that the software available is NOT compatible with Vista 64 bit (it is compatible with 32bit, however). Had I known this before I bought it I would have bought a different product as being able to download and graph my readings is very important to me. I would recommend this as long as the person understands the limitations with software availability. Pros

Comments about OneTouch UltraMini Glucose Monitoring System, Purple, 1 ea: When they were making the attachment to take blood tests in the arm, you could wash the dishes and use a computer, but I did not get that attachment with my order. Even if your blood tests results were a little higher in the arm, you still had a ballpark number and enough to carry on a normal life Pros
