I have used this type of meter for a number of years now having the company replace it twice for various reasons. By far this is the best I have ever used. It allows me to enter my two types of insulin plus doses, graphs my results, totals daily insulin use and tracks my lows. It is my daily tool to stay in tight control and sincerely hope this type is never discontinued.

The meter keeps track of carbs for each meal. It also averages glucose readings before meals after meals at night and you can label if you are doing exercise or are sick. This is a mini computer but VERY easy to use. Buy one and try all the options you will be sold on it.

OneTouch UltraSmart is the best Glucose Monitor I ever had. It is very easy to use. It is like having a monitor with a brain. Everyone that has a problem with their glucose and wants more than just a plain meter should have a OneTouch UltraSmart. It will make their life so much easier.

I have had my OneTouch UltraSmart for five days now and I find it to be the best monitor I have had. I do not have the software or cable yet but am looking forward to exploring that as well. The graphs with the diet, health, and exercise logs make this an excellent way of monitoring what helps keep the numbers in a healthy range and what needs to change. It has already motivated me to make some healthy changes in my life!

I had been using a Profile until Summer 2004, when I got the Ultra. The Ultra was great - small sample size and fast results - but held no info other than the test results and date/time. I'm no good at writing things down as they happen, so my recordkeeping was messed up. Just decided to go for the UltraSmart, and it's fantastic. It records all sorts of information, making it easy to see trends or to look back and see how much insulin I took and when. It was also very easy to set up despite all the buttons and the various options. The only thing I wish was different is the meal tags. With the Profile, you could tag any individual readings with any meal tag and the time didn't matter. For people like me with wacky schedules, forcing set time periods for each meal doesn't always work.

I am newly diagnosed with diabetes, and this meter really helps me see how I am doing with managing my blood sugar. I love how I can check trends by time of day, day of week, and add in food so I can tell how what I am eating affects my blood sugar. I love it!

I can't believe how easy it is to test. The amount of blood needed is miniscule compared to what I have been using (One Touch Profile). I like the way it processes information in logbook form and is downloadable to a PC so you can get a clear picture of your trends, etc. This could be of value to your doctor as well. I am VERY happy with this meter and recommend it highly to anyone. Extremely easy to use!

The very best in blood glucose monitors. Works with very small sample of blood. Negative: The FREE downloadable (via internet) software for this only works with DB9 connector, while most computers manufactured recently don't even have a DB9 serial port. Information CAN be manually entered into the program, however.

This is so easy to use, and my doctor loves it too. It gives him just what he needs to keep the best information on what is going on and to see any trends, if changes are needed in meds/eating habits etc. And being able to fax, email or take your own printed-paper in to him/her to see what is going on in your blood checks and more with this monitor, with different ways like bar graphs and line etc, or what he/she wants. You can see what is happening in a day, week, weeks or more, and not need to wait a week or more to gather the info. To me, the visual is easy to see if I'm doing things right. I have diabetes but this product helps make it far easier to work with... I love it!
